Ministry Residency Program at Denver Seminary INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITY: Pastoral Ministries Resident LOCATION: Lochwood Christian Fellowship About: Lochwood Christian Fellowship is a neighborhood church in Lakewood dedicated to Biblical teaching and leadership, building Christian fellowship, and loving our community through the power of Christ at work within us. We are Baptist in theology and casual in style. Our church is in transition to younger generations in leadership. We believe Lochwood Christian Fellowship is an ideal place for a part time resident looking for experience in multiple aspects of church ministry including teaching/preaching, pastoral care, special services, leadership, administration, and personal/corporate evangelism.

ESTIMATED TIME COMMITMENT: 15-20 hours per week DUTIES:

The Pastoral Ministry Resident will work closely with the Pastor to develop small groups and reach out into our community. Additional responsibilities will depend on the leading of Christ, the interests of the Resident, and the needs of our congregation. The smaller church environment at Lochwood provides an ideal place for training and growth, with opportunities not often available in larger churches. Resident will be expected to: 1. Attend weekly staff meetings 2. Attend Sunday services and activities 3. Attend quarterly church meetings

QUALIFICATIONS: 1.

A mature, active, and growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

2. A calling and desire to serve and minister as a church pastor.

3. A full agreement with and commitment to the Biblical and doctrinal beliefs of Lochwood Christian Fellowship and the vision and direction of the church. 4. A personal maturity and integrity that is consistent with the qualifications of deacons and elders. 5.

The ability to communicate clearly and effectively with youth and adults.

6. A strong personal witness and desire to lead others to Christ. 7.

The ability to recruit, train, and motivate volunteers.

8. A history of discipleship, both being a disciple and helping others to grow in their faith and maturity. 9. A teachable spirit, with a desire for personal accountability.

Similar ministry training as that available in and through schooling for future clergy; 2. This training is for the benefit of the trainee; 3. Resident is not a replacement for a regular employee, but works under close observation; 4. This program is considered to be of greater value to the trainee than to the employer; 5. Trainees are not necessarily entitled to a job at the completion of the program; Employer and trainee understand that trainees are not entitled to wages for the time spent in training.
