Sport Wales Advisory Group Our Role Identifying long term changes required to influence sport’s appeal amongst the less active. Support Sport Wales Board by scanning horizon to identify headwinds, tailwinds and mega trends which will impact the Board’s work. The Group’s work will be used to inform sports policy and development at national, regional and local levels.
Key Projects Year 1: 1. 2026 and Beyond Acting today for an ActiveTomorrow Produce a compelling white paper on societal changes anticipated up to 2026 Provide the sport sector with information to take decisive action to respond in advance of future demands.

The People Agenda ‘Give to Gain’ The development of a framework for volunteering Intrinsic links between participation rate and quantity and quality of volunteers Influence a change of culture of volunteering making it more target focused Recruiting the right people in the right roles

Benefits to Sports Officials Sports official selection: talent identification and profiling that enables members to select and develop referees. Accreditations: SOUK members would be able to Accredit Prior Experiential Learning (APEL) which would exempt them from certain modules/elements. Continual Professional Development: external CPD Courses allows participants to apply for APEL as above. Work-based learning.
