Making Your Connection During peak times (4:30-7 a.m. and 2:15-5:30 p.m. weekday departures from DFW Airport Station), the Orange Line travels from the station through Irving, into downtown Dallas and to the northern terminus of the system at Parker Road Station in Plano. Off-peak, it follows the same path but terminates at LBJ/Central Station. to New DFW Airport Station means great new DART Rail connections The August 18 opening of the new DFW Airport Station at Terminal A connects North Texas to the world and the world to one of the nation’s fastest growing regions. Here are answers to some of the most commonly asked questions about our newest light rail service. What are the Orange Line’s hours of operation? The first Orange Line train arrives at DFW Airport Station each day of the week at 3:50 a.m. The last one arrives at 1:19 a.m. The first Orange Line train departs DFW Airport Station on weekdays at 4:18 a.m. with the last train departing at 1:12 a.m. On weekends, the first Orange Line train departs DFW Airport Station at 4:06 a.m. The last train departs at 12:12 a.m. Will I notice any major change in the Orange Line schedule? Mid-day frequencies will remain basically the same. In the early mornings, the number of departures from downtown Dallas prior to 6:15 a.m. will increase from three to nine, beginning at 2:54 a.m. from Pearl/Arts District Station. This includes five additional trains originating at Fair Park Station, plus a special Orange Line train will operate from the Green Line’s Buckner Station at 5:18 a.m., arriving at Pearl/Arts District Station at 5:46 a.m. and continuing to DFW. Late evening inbound trips to Downtown Dallas will increase significantly as well (see inside section for specific times). What are the approximate travel times from DFW Airport Station to major Orange Line destinations and transfer points? • Belt Line Station – 8 minutes • Bachman Station (transfer point for Green Line) – 31 minutes • SW Medical District/Parkland Station – 41 minutes • Victory Station (transfer point for Trinity Railway Express) – 46 minutes • West End Station (transfer point for Red and Blue lines) – 50 minutes (Visit www.DART.org for more schedule information.) Will I have to pay the regional fare to take the Orange Line to DFW Airport Station? No. The ride to DFW Airport Station will be covered by the local fare – $2.50 for a two-hour pass and $5 for a day pass. Will Bus Route 500 still serve the airport? No. The Orange Line will replace Route 500, which will be re-directed to serve a new Commercial and Industrial area nearby. DART buses will be used only in the event of a service disruption. 6

What are the rules about luggage on DART Rail? You must be able to board and exit DART vehicles with all baggage at one time and without luggage carts. Luggage must not block the aisles; the cars do not have racks on board. DART operators are not required to provide assistance. The center car of each three-car rail vehicle provides boarding level with the platform – perfect for roll-on luggage – and abundant floor space compared with the other cars. A DFW Smarte Carte station is located near the walkway between the airport and DFW Airport Station. Can I check my bags in at Terminal A? Passengers flying on American Airlines (from any terminal) can walk from the station up the walkway to Terminal A to check in, check bags and pass through a security checkpoint. Passengers taking American Airlines flights from another terminal can do the same and then take Skylink. Passengers using other air carriers who need to check bags should take their bags with them and use Terminal Link, the airport’s inter-terminal bus shuttle, which stops near the rail station. (If you have only carry-on luggage, you can go through security and take Skylink to your terminal.) Do I need my DART pass to board the Terminal Link buses? Terminal Link is free. How do I access Skylink, the airport’s automated aerial people mover system connecting the terminals? Skylink is located inside the terminal, beyond airport security. Need more information? DART will provide a concierge at DFW Airport Station on weekdays, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., from the opening day of service until the end of 2014. Additionally, you can call DART Customer Service on weekdays from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m., and on weekends and holidays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The number is 214-979-1111.
