Navitas English provides the Adult Migrant English Program (AMEP) and the Skills for Education and Employment (SEE) program for the Department of Industry and the Humanitarian Settlement Services (HSS) for the Department of Social Services. Expressions of interest are sought for the position of Manager, Pathways to Work, located in Bankstown in the Employment Pathways Unit to manage the Settlement Language Pathways to Employment Program (SLPET) within the AMEP. The AMEP supports migrants and humanitarian entrants in their successful settlement in Australia and assist them with pathways to employment and further training. The Manager, Pathways to Work is responsible for: • Management of the Settlement Language Pathways to Employment & Training (SLPET) program • Management and support the SLPET staff within the Employment Pathways Units in the East and West regions • Preparing SLPET program reports • Ensuring provision of quality standards in program and reporting to Manager, Employment Pathways and Business Development • Liaising and establishing links with Navitas English consortium partners and external agencies regarding new initiatives Essential • Experience in planning the management of courses/programs • Demonstrated client focused, flexible and innovative approach to program delivery • Proven ability to recruit, develop and provide leadership and management • Demonstrate ability to deliver high quality and contract compliant programs • Demonstrated ability to engage with local community forums, external agencies, service providers and consortium partners Desirable • Experience working in program management role in the delivery of settlement services • Flexible, innovative and demonstrates initiative in the management of people • Culturally sensitive and responsive What we offer An attractive remuneration package will be negotiated with the successful candidate. The leadership, management and support of the Employment Pathways Unit’s courses to deliver employment and further study focused programs in the East and West Navitas English EFS regions

Principal accountabilities 1. Ensures the highest standard of program provision and service for clients by: • • • • • •

Ensure the achievement of contract requirements and key performance indicators for the delivery of the AMEP SLPET program in each region in liaison and collaboration with Manager, Employment Pathways and Business Development and College management Managing the planning and implementation of other employment and further study focused programs with the Manager - Employment pathways and Business Development Preparing SLPET reports to meet AMEP contract reporting requirements Evaluating the progress and outcomes of programs and services and facilitating pathways for clients on completion of these courses where feasible Ensuring quality standards in program and service provision and reporting to EFS Manager Employment Pathways and Business Development Liaising with Navitas English Consortium partners regarding program delivery and new initiatives

Working with the EFS SMT and College Managers to promote Navitas English, as an organisation which effectively addresses the employment and further study concerns and interests of its clients to key stakeholders, including community groups and settlement service providers Working with key government services, Referring Agencies and Registered Training Organisations to ensure that Navitas English is seen to be proactive in assisting its clients with pathways to employment Working cooperatively with funding agencies on maintaining and developing new employment related programs and training Working collaboratively with the Manager, Teaching and Learning to promote EFS’ employment and study focused programs, services and expertise in professional forums Complying with legislative, regulatory and procedural requirements relevant to operations of the position

4. Contributes to the most effective and efficient management of Navitas English’s resources by; • • • • • •

Managing the efficient administration of Navitas English’s employment focused services and resources Operating within financial and operational delegations Overseeing the deployment of staff to meet client and Navitas English’s needs Implementing effective communication and information dissemination practices Preparing budget estimates for the EPU and controlling expenditure against allocations Providing timely and accurate information, advice, statistical and other reports to the Manager Employment Pathways and Business Development

Participating in the Business Planning cycle and assisting with the development of Navitas English business plans Actively promoting and developing Navitas English’s vision, values and culture Understanding the environment in which EFS business unit operates Seeking continuous improvement in the operations of EFS business unit Having a thorough understanding of the employment and government programs market and keeping abreast of trends and developments Identifying new opportunities for expansion of employment related programs and assisting in the development of tenders for these programs Managing the implementation of new employment related government programs

Contributes to the maintenance of client privacy by: • •

ensuring privacy regulations are understood and implemented ensuring client records and personal information are stored securely according to Navitas English privacy policy
