He has set his foundation on the holy mountain; the Lord loves the gates of Zion more than all the dwellings of Jacob. Glorious things are said of you, O city of God: “I will record Rahab and Babylon among those who acknowledge me— Philistia too, and Tyre, along with Cush— and will say, ‘This one was born in Zion.’” Indeed, of Zion it will be said, “This one and that one were born in her, and the Most High himself will establish her.” The Lord will write in the register of the peoples, “This one was born in Zion.” As they make music they will sing, “All my fountains are in you.” WCONGREGATIONAL RESPONSE . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Savior, if of Zion’s city I, through grace, a member am, Let the world deride or pity, I will glory in Thy Name: Fading is the worldling’s pleasure, all his boasted pomp and show; Solid joys and lasting treasure none but Zion’s children know. Almighty and merciful Father, who has called us out to be Your people built on the foundation that is Christ Jesus, we are thankful that Your mercy is higher than the heavens, wider than our wanderings, and deeper than all our sin. Forgive our careless attitudes toward Your purposes, our refusal to relieve the sufferings of others, our envy of those who have more than we have, our obsession with creating a life of constant pleasure, our indifference to the treasures of heaven, and our neglect of Your wise and gracious law. Help us to change our way of life so that we may desire what is good, love what You love, do what You command, and live as a people belonging to God. INDIVIDUAL PRAYERS OF CONFESSION

PRAYER OF COMMITMENT

ASSURANCE OF DIVINE PARDON

My hope is built on nothing less than Jesus’ blood and righteousness; I dare not trust the sweetest frame, but wholly lean on Jesus’ name. On Christ, the solid rock, I stand; all other ground is sinking sand. All other ground is sinking sand.

We consider it a privilege to have our children in worship with us. If your small children become restless and vocal, we invite you to the children’s room especially designed for them at the rear of the Sanctuary. They are also welcome in the nursery. Older children should also be encouraged to come to church prepared to stay in their pew throughout the service.

One of our pastors will be available after the service to pray for you or to offer helpful direction regarding your spiritual life. He will be in the Gathering Room, which is the first room on your left as you exit the southwest door of the Sanctuary (closest to the pulpit). You may also send your confidential email to [email protected] with questions about your spiritual life.

Join us tonight for Sunday Night Worship “Priority Mail: God’s Way of Resolving Conflict” · I Corinthians 6:1-11 Wes Simmons, preaching · 6 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall Should Christians handle conflicts with each other outside the church? Should we sue one another in public court? It happens throughout the world today, and it took place in Corinth as well. Paul argued that this practice had to end, and it revealed that the Corinthian church really did not understand the reconciling nature of the Gospel. Join us as we think through what the Bible has to say about conflict resolution.

Weekly Focus on Mission Partners

World Missions: Tuesday, March 17, is a day of celebration for missionaries Dave and Joyce Briley. On that day the culmination of 33 years work among the Bauzi people of Papua, Indonesia, will be marked as the Bauzi New Testament is dedicated. We join the Brileys as they praise God for His faithfulness in allowing them to complete the task of creating a written language for this tribe and then enabling them to write a New Testament in the Bauzi language. Dave and Joyce ask that we pray for the Holy Spirit to quicken the hearts of the Bauzis as they read God’s Word and that the Lord will lead the Brileys to the next place where He is calling them to serve. MissionUSA: Mentoring is key to Memphis Athletic Ministries. More than 600 kids visit MAM’s neighborhood centers daily where the time and attention given by mentors really makes a difference in their lives. Please pray for more volunteers to serve as tutors, coaches, fans at their sporting events, and team mothers/fathers. Please prayerfully consider mentoring in one of these ways.
