3. Christ is over culture.

Cross-Culture

There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male or female, for you are Galatians 3:28 all one in Christ Jesus.

1. Culture is complicated.

Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and aliens, but fellow citizens with God’s people and members of God’s household. Ephesians 2:19 4

There is one body and one Spirit—just as you were called to one hope when you were called—5one Lord, one faith, one baptism; 6one God and Ephesians 4:4-6 Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.

2. Culture is to be valued. 2

4. Culture is eternal. … at the Name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth. Philippians 2:10 And they sang a new song: “You are worthy to take the scroll and to open its seals, because You were slain, and with Your blood you purchased men for God from every tribe and language and people and Revelation 5:9 nation.

Suppose a man comes into your meeting wearing a gold ring and fine clothes, and a poor man in shabby clothes also comes in. 3If you show special attention to the man wearing fine clothes and say, “Here’s a good seat for you,” but say to the poor man, “You stand there” or “Sit on the floor by my feet,” 4have you not discriminated among yourselves and become judges with evil thoughts? 9 But if you show favouritism, you sin and are convicted by the law as lawbreakers. James 2:2-4, 9
