Marketing Manager Full-time, Ongoing, Melbourne Navitas is a diversified global education provider that offers an extensive range of educational services for students and professionals including university programs, English language training and settlement services, creative media education, workforce education and student recruitment. Navitas, or PIBT as it was then, was founded in 1994 with the goal of helping more international students succeed at university in Australia via improved student support and an extended academic year. Located on Deakin University’s Melbourne Burwood Campus, Geelong Waterfront and Geelong Waurn Ponds campus, Melbourne Institute of Business and Technology Pty Ltd (MIBT) is a College offering post-secondary local and international students alternative pathways into University through a Certificate IV in University Foundation Studies, a range of Diploma Programs articulating into the second year of a related Bachelors degree and a Postgraduate Qualifying Program providing a pathway into selected Masters Programs. MIBT is seeking a Marketing Manager responsible for maintaining and growing key markets for recruiting domestic and international students to the College. Reporting to the Director, Marketing and Admissions the incumbent will be responsible for managing a portfolio of markets, effective relationship building and management of our agents, prospective students and parents and key stakeholders within the University community. To be successful in this role you will have drive and determination to succeed in a challenging market, superior communication, organisational and cross-cultural skills, experience in co-ordinating recruitment events and possess an innovative and analytical approach to the development of new recruitment opportunities. Tertiary qualification relevant to the role or marketing and recruitment experience in an educational institution or similar type organisation. Demonstrated experience with a proven track record in student recruitment and marketing of education services to international and domestic students. Excellent interpersonal communication, cross-cultural and negotiation skills. Proven ability to manage clients, stakeholders and business partners from a wide range of backgrounds and cultural expectations. Ability to work independently and meet deadlines. High level of oral, written and interpersonal presentation skills. Demonstrated ability to work as part of a marketing team. Ability to be creative and innovative in designing marketing strategies. High level of skill and demonstrated ability to competently use the MS Office Suite, email and internet applications. Willingness and ability to travel within Australia and overseas and to work outside normal office hours.

Marketing Manager POSITION TITLE: REPORTS TO:

Marketing Manager Director Marketing and Admissions

POSITION PURPOSE Reporting to the Director, Marketing and Admissions the incumbent manages a portfolio of markets (international and domestic) and budgets to achieve objectives. The position is required to develop and implement a range of recruitment strategies to yield enrolments and promote the Navitas brand and the College to prospective clients. The position requires a hands-on marketing professional able to analyse and translate marketing information into actionable strategies and initiatives for the recruitment of students. The role will also have responsibility for proactively managing relationships with agents and domestic contacts to deliver recruitment targets. The Marketing Manager works with the communication team to convert enquiries from prospective students to commencements by ensuring outstanding eMarketing practices. The position will involve travel and work outside of core hours. The emphasis at MIBT is on a team approach to achieve objectives and, as a result, duties may vary from time to time according to workloads, particularly in relation to the end of one trimester and commencement of the subsequent trimester.

KEY RESULTS AREAS AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Marketing and Recruitment 

In consultation with the Director Marketing and Admissions develop and implement an annual marketing plan with growth targets for the target countries, based on market research, to meet organisational objectives.



Manage relationships with the key stakeholders of MIBT recruitment network. This includes agents, teachers, careers counsellors marketing/recruitment staff within Deakin University and scholarship sponsors.



Develop and organise marketing and recruitment events and communications campaigns to achieve the recruitment targets.



Evaluate the outcomes of marketing events and campaigns to inform future marketing and recruitment plan.



Provide reports and data analysis to the Director Marketing and Admissions regarding market conditions through the establishment of market intelligence generated from market research, enquiry, application and enrolment trends.



Work closely with the communication team to ensure effective collection of prospect information, tracking of prospective student enquiries and the development of strategies to run effective eMarketing campaigns to facilitate conversion.



Liaise closely with the Programs and Business Development Division on product development through the establishment of market intelligence derived from market research, enquiry, application and enrolment trends.



Contribute to improvements in publicity material, including the MIBT brochure, and to update displays, posters and fliers.



Liaise and co-operate with marketing personnel from the other Navitas UPD Colleges in order to present a unified and co-ordinated approach where applicable.

2. VTAC 

Manage VTAC related issues to ensure MIBT adheres to VTAC requirements pertaining to all areas of student enrolment, promotion, selection and admissions and will be required to VTAC trainings.



Ensure consistent and accurate information is provided to VTAC.



Develop and implement an analytics plan that incorporates frequent monitoring, review and analysis of VTAC preferences and offers.



Work with the Admissions Manager to ensure VTAC applications are responded timely.



Work in conjunction with the Senior Schools Development and Marketing Manager to promote MIBT to careers counsellors and will be required to attend and present at their meetings.

3. Other Duties 

Liaise with the Admissions Manager, particularly on assessment of qualifications for entry.



Participate in monthly meetings, or at other intervals, of MIBT staff.



Assist with the College Orientation/ Enrolment programs.



Undertake projects and duties as directed and agreed between the College Director/Principal and the Director Marketing and Admissions.
