MARRIAGE
In our society, marriage is less stable, less committed, and less commonly understood as an institution created by God. Because we believe Christian marriage is a gift from God that should be cared for, we’re launching a number of ministries designed to support and strengthen marriages. ENGAGE This is a marriage preparation class designed to give engaged or seriously dating couples a unique opportunity to learn, about marriage. It’s taught by pastors and mentor couples in a small group format where students can dialog with wise married couples and even seek counsel for any issues arising in their relationship. The course is informative, fun, authentic and interactive. The class teaches the foundations of marriage from an Evangelical biblical perspective. It also presents a variety of practical relational principles and life skills.
2 on 2 MARRIAGE MENTORS This ministry offers encouragement for newly married couples. Research shows that all marriages benefit from healthy mentor relationships, especially new marriages. Couples are matched with a mentor couple who reach out with friendship and care. They help the newly married couple grow strong in their relationship with God and each other. We’re always looking for additional 2-on-2 Mentors couples who want to help newly married couples. If you are interested in being a mentor couple please contact Debi Mills. REUNION One of our greatest discipleship opportunities— and one of the most challenging sometimes—is enriching and restoring marriages. Reunion is a biblically-based marriage ministry that helps couples reconnect, reignite or resurrect their marriages. It provides an environment for couples to experience the life-change and hope that a deeper relationship with Christ can bring to a marriage.
This class is a prerequisite before being married by a Beaverton Foursquare pastor.
YOUNG MARRIED AND MARRIAGEFOCUSED LIFE GROUPS Young Married Life Groups are for couples married five years or less, and designed to help couples establish oneness with God, each other, and friendship with other newly married couples.
WEDDINGS A Christian wedding ceremony is the public proclamation of a sacred covenant before God, and the couple’s community. It’s also a wonderful beginning for marriage.
Marriage-Focused Life Groups are for couples at any age of marriage that would like to study the Bible, investing new or existing, friendships, with biblical meaning. Most groups are comprised of married couples in a similar life stage.
We have a beautiful and well-maintained campus available for weddings. It offers a large sanctuary, smaller gathering rooms, a bride’s room, and other spaces suitable for receptions. If you would like to be married at our church or have one of our pastors officiate for your wedding, we are delighted to assist you. The first step for every couple is to make an appointment with Debi Mills, who supervises the church’s marriage ministry.
