Family Mass Reflection The goal of a Mass Reflection is to help engage your family with what is going on during the Mass and to help your children make faith connections to our daily lives. After discussing your family’s experience at Mass, please answer these questions and turn in a minimum of one reflection per month, with a total of 7 by the end of the year, for your entire family. Please list all children’s names and grades.

Visit www.aliveinchrist.osv.com/family and scroll down to the green box on the left to find The Lectionary Link; background and discussion questions specifically for this weeks readings!

1. The Liturgy of the Word is the first part of the Mass during which we hear God's Word proclaimed from the Bible. What is one thing that your family remembers hearing at Mass today from the readings, homily, songs, or prayers? Please write 1-2 sentences or have the children draw their answer here.

2. The Liturgy of the Eucharist is the second part of the Mass that includes Holy Communion. During the Eucharist the bread and wine become the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ. The bread and wine are not just symbols. Jesus is truly present at Mass. The word Eucharist means “thanksgiving”. As a family, discuss what we are giving thanks for when we celebrate the Eucharist and what you are most grateful for this week. Please write 1-2 sentences or have the children draw their answer here.
