Connecting Math Practices with Math Content Pitsco Education’s newest Common Core math curriculum,
various exciting Destinations using Tasks and Resources as travel
Expeditions, was developed to embrace the Common Core
tools while learning the important processes and proficiencies in mathematics education.
State Standards Initiative and is designed to help connect mathematical practices to mathematical content. Pitsco’s goal with Expeditions is to build robust mathematical thinking in all students by engaging them with the subject matter. Expeditions are designed to be tailored to teachers and as such can be delivered either rotationally or whole class. Based on teacher preference, students can also work individually whether a whole-class or a rotational implementation is being used. With this new math offering, students will embark on Expeditions to
