MBA  with paid

work placement.*

One CAS and one visa for your Pre-Master’s, Master’s and work placement.   No previous work experience required!

* Although there is support from the University of Northampton to help students find a work placement, it is not guaranteed. Students are required to actively search for a placement themselves. If they are unsuccessful in finding one they will take a module to make up the remaining credits and complete the MBA within one year. Their visa will be curtailed to reflect this.

Brand new £330m campus opened September 2018. Waterside Campus is designed to adapt to 21st century teaching. There is a full range of integrated learning environments, sports facilities, student accommodation and catering. A 24/7 library and learning zone means students can work when it suits them.

Launch your business career in the heart of the UK. Why do I need to study a Pre-Master’s?

Key features

If you want to study a Master’s degree but don’t have the required qualifications, then UNIC’s Pre-Master’s option is perfect for you. The programme is just one semester and designed to develop your knowledge and understanding of basic principles relevant to your MBA studies.

■ Chartered

Management Institute (CMI) Level 7 Diploma and affiliate membership throughout your studies and valid for 12 months after you have graduated from the course.

■ PRINCE2®

(Projects in Controlled Environments) is the internationally recognised project management programme. Online learning materials are provided as part of your course fees.

Why study an MBA with the University of Northampton?

■ You

will have the opportunity to participate in the MBA business event. This event is optional and the cost should not exceed £500 for flights and accommodation (if you are travelling from the UK).*

An MBA is a globally recognised postgraduate qualification. Unlike other postgraduate courses which provide in-depth specialism to a specific field, an MBA exposes you to all areas of business including finance, human resources and marketing. The MBA is an opportunity for creating and building your networks. You will have the opportunity to engage with business professionals from a range of organisations, industries and countries exchanging their experiences and best practice.

* You should allow an additional £100 (approximately) for your own expenses.

Placement success: I chose UNIC and the University of Northampton as the opportunity to do a work placement as part of my Master’s was something I was really interested in. The ability to learn work skills and study is something I know will help me when applying for work back in India. UNIC is a great starting point because you adapt to life in the UK and feel prepared for your onward study. There is quite a big difference between undergraduate and postgraduate study so doing my Pre-Master’s at UNIC has really helped me adapt to that change.

Shivika manages seven staff members in the Student Services team and leads events across the four campuses. I have always wanted to work in the education sector and had some experience through being a graduate tutor for the University and teaching at a local college. My advice to other students looking for a placement on their MBA is start looking and applying for opportunities within two months of starting the course. Make use of the Changemaker Hub at the University to transform your CV and cover letter. Make sure you do part-time jobs which will be relevant for your placement year as it will help you answer lot of questions during your interview.
