2018 Parent Code of Conduct - Spring All parents will adhere to the Parent Code of Conduct, which includes the following: 1. I agree to lead by example by not criticizing the Organization, Board Members, coaches, players and/or cheerleaders but instead will treat each director, coach, opponent, opposing fan, official or administrator with respect and dignity. 2. I will respect and accept all decisions made by the game officials on the field, or the judges at competitions, as being fair and called/judged to the best of their abilities. 3. I will display appropriate behavior by refraining from verbally or physically abusive, profane language and or gestures of any kind, negative comments or intimidation tactics towards any director, coach, player opponent, opposing fan, official or administrator at any Organization related activity and especially in the presence of an athlete. 4. I understand that any fan that becomes a nuisance and out of control will be asked to leave and will be subject to further disciplinary action. 5. I will not deliberately incite unsportsmanlike conduct of any kind but will instead encourage good sportsmanship and set an example that will have a positive influence on my athlete. 6. I will refrain from the use of drugs, alcohol and tobacco related products at all youth sporting events as each athlete deserves to play in a healthy and safe environment. 7. I will strive to make every football/cheerleading activity serve as a training ground for life, and a basis for good mental and physical health by being there to support my athlete. 8. I will emphasize to my athlete that good athletes strive to be good students and that both are physically and mentally alert. 9. I will emphasize that winning a game, competition or other related activity is a result of teamwork and all athletes have different levels of abilities and that all should be given the opportunity to display their personal best. 10. I will be responsible for getting my athlete to practice, games, and related activities on time to assure adequate warm-up and to avoid embarrassment to my athlete, and I agree to pick up my athlete from practices on time as well. 11. I will refrain from talking to and/or distracting my athlete during performance at a game, practice, competition or other related function to ensure the safety of my athlete and my athlete’s teammates. I will reserve any conversation until the activity has ended and the director has dismissed your athlete. 12. 16. I will not act in any manner which could be detrimental to the team and or the association. 17. I will uphold all rules, regulations, code of conducts, by-laws, and board directives of MJW Cheer & Dance. 18. No direct contact is permitted by any non board member directly with the IRCA, this is grounds for disqualifications for the entire organization. 19. I acknowledge that I have access to the MJW handbook via the MJW website and will review the contents. 20. I will under no circumstance contact the IRCA directly regarding my daughter’s squad. All inquires must be made from the Executive board. Any violations of this code of conduct could result in disciplinary action which may include but is not limited to probation, suspension and/or termination from any and all organization participation. 21. The Parent-Coach-Director Relationship: In your role as a parent, you obviously love and are concerned about your athlete‘s welfare. You want the best for him/her. But an athlete can have only one coach and Director. Allowing the coach/director to instruct and guide the team is crucial in many respects. Should you have any questions or concerns, do not approach any coach. Call and make an appointment for a later time with your squad Director only and approach this meeting in a calm, courteous and logical manner. If any parent contacts, in person, via email, Facebook or text any coach with requests or questions about their athlete’s placement, participation, that will be considered a violation of the Parent Code of Conduct Addendum and your athlete will be immediately removed from their squad. • • • •

Each Director/Coach prepares & executes a routine that is in the best interest of the entire squad. The goal of each Director/Coach is to have a routine with the intent to achieve the best/highest scores possible. Based on the Director/Coach discretion certain skills & talents will be showcased. If you cannot come to a resolution with a director your next step would be to contact an Executive Board member via email at [email protected] .

I hereby acknowledge and certify that I have read, understand, and will abide by the promises and requirements herein concerning the behaviors and actions of parents/spectators at all practices, games, competitions and other association related activities and understand that failure to adhere to the above guidelines will result in disciplinary action. __________________________________ Athlete Name
