SAE hosts holiday workshops for young future creatives SAE Creative Media Institute in Byron Bay will open its doors to young aspiring animators, electronic music producers and designers these school holidays. The SAE Summer Series, running from 18 to 20 January, gives students aged 13 to 18 the chance to work on creative projects with lecturers and industry experts, using state-of-theart facilities on campus. SAE Byron Bay Campus Manager Bill Wade said it was a great opportunity for young people to experience life on campus while creating something tangible for their portfolio or showreel. “Most importantly, it’s a great way to help students with their future study and career decision-making,” he said. Students can choose from the following streams: • • •

Animation –learn the essentials of 3D animation and learn how to bring a character to life (three day course) Electronic Music Production – learn the fundamentals of creating your own beats and create your track from beginning to end (three day course) Graphic Design – create a stylish poster and learn the fundamentals of graphic design (two day course).
