meeting human needs in Christ’s name

Touched Twice United strives to strengthen and empower the local church by exercising God’s arms of love. TTU believes the brokenness in our current healthcare system is the opportunity for our generation to demonstrate and articulate God’s remedy: word and deed. TTU seeks to ignite local churches: encouraging and equipping volunteers to host free oneday clinics – backyard medical missions – meeting human needs in Christ’s name. Following the simple biblical model of Jesus touching the blind man twice (Mark 8:22-25) volunteers at Touched Twice United events first reach out to meet the physical needs of guests (medical, optical, dental or chiropractic care; food and clothing; haircuts and oil changes …) then touch each guest a second time by sharing our faith in Christ. The result is the promised holistic healing for the entire community: those serving and those being served. BEGIN

PRAY

Ideas for free clinics are as limitless as your volunteers—be creative! Touched Twice events are crafted around the resources and abilities in your community. Our goal is to provide logistical tools and inspiration so people like you can focus on sharing the vision, recruiting volunteers, and reaching out to people in need. The process begins right now, today, as you are thinking about your event:

We are confident that your Touched Twice clinic will be truly Holy Spirit breathed, and encourage you to surround your event in prayer, believing that God is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine. Ephesians 3:20 SHARE Share your heart for hosting a Touched Twice event with others in your congregation and neighboring churches.

“… some people brought a sightless man and begged Jesus to give him a healing touch. Taking him by the hand, he led him out of the village. He put spit in the man's eyes, laid hands on him, and asked, ‘Do you see anything?’ He looked up. ‘I see men. They look like walking trees.’ So Jesus laid hands on his eyes again. The man looked hard and realized that he had recovered perfect sight, saw everything …” Mark 8:22-25 Touched Twice United held its first free clinic in 1996 and is a 501(c)(3) non-profit.
