Message from the Principal The True Meaning of Christmas As I have been walking around school, I have been blessed to hear our students preparing for the Christmas concert. I see teachers who are dedicated to teaching the students their lines and songs that proclaim the birth of the Savior. I see parents showing the Christmas joy in the their hearts and actions. It is truly an amazing time of the year. In our times; however, the true meaning of Christmas has been replaced by the term holidays, material possessions, and commercialism. I am able to go around Reformation and still hear the true meaning of Christmas being taught by some of the most amazing teachers. In our chapel today we learned that John the Baptist, even though he was in prison, was hearing about all of the wonderful things that Jesus was doing. He sent a message to Jesus by some of his friends. "Ask Jesus if he is the Messiah we have been expecting, or should we continue to watch for someone else?" When Jesus was asked the question, he answered, "Return to John and tell him what you have seen and heard. You have seen the blind receive their sight, the crippled and lame are able to walk, those with leprosy are being cured, the deaf are able to hear. Even the dead have been raised and the good news is being preached to the poor." (Matthew 11:4-5) If you were blind, what better gift could you receive than to be able to see? If you were crippled, what better gift could you receive than to be able to walk? If you were dead, what better gift could you receive than the gift of life? Oh, by the way, that last gift I mentioned... the gift of life. That is the real meaning of Christmas. Jesus came to earth to give us life -- eternal life! What a gift! Reformation teaches the true meaning of Christmas. The Savior came to the world to live the perfect life that we could not live, die on the cross for our sins, and rise again that we may have eternal life. Reformation gives an education that lasts more than a lifetime! In Christ, Mike Homan Principal

Preschool News This December in Preschool we're learning all about the true meaning of Christmas, the birth of our savior Jesus! The greatest gift ever :) We're also working hard practicing lots of songs and lines for our Christmas program. We hope you all can come join us for it on December 15th at the 10:30 church service! Even though we're very busy we are still finding time to study and explore all about Christmas, winter, snow and this fun season! We'll celebrate with a Christmas party at the end of the month :) we wish you all a merry Christmas and a blessed new year! Please look out for a notice about the Christmas exchange.

Important Notice! Spring Teachers Conference was moved from March 7, 2014 to February 21, 2014. This means that there will be no school on Friday, February 21 and that there will be school on Friday March 7. Sorry for this change and we hope it does not inconvenience you and your family.

Preschool and Shepherds Care Christmas Vacation Sign-up Before Thanksgiving a note was send home about signing up if your child was going to need Preschool or Shepherd's Care over the Christmas break. In order to know how many staff members we will need, we need to know how many students to plan for. This helps us in planning so that if numbers are low we can allow a teacher to fly home for a small vacation. Please, fill out the sheet as soon as possible and return it to Miss Brigetta. If you need a new sheet there are some in the Shepherds Care sign in folder or you can email [email protected] and we will email you a copy.

First and Second Grade Field Trip to Tecolote Canyon By Julia Ash, Dylan Gascon, and Marina Kato We walked. We saw lots of trees. The trees had leaves, bark, and nuts. We saw nuts called acorns. We got to feel the bark on sycamore tree. We saw animals. We saw tarantulas, birds and snakes. We learned that the tarantula’s hair is worse than its bite.
