Greetings Monterrey Park Families, This week is 4 day week, and we will make use of every minute of each day as we push to continue closing the achievement gaps several of our scholars came to us with. We have tutoring three days a week, 6th grade Math has small group intervention 4 days a week with 2 teachers, 6th grade ELA has small group conferencing and individual conferencing twice a week, and additional math & ELA support classes happen every day all day. Please make sure your scholar is here every day and is inn tutoring if assigned – there is no such thing as make-up, there is only falling behind and trying to catch up. I want to limit the number of scholars in that predicament. I apologize for Saturday School cancellation, but due to ongoing construction and weekend trainings for teachers, consistency became a challenge. Instead I have moved some things around for teachers and moved Saturday school to Tuesday School. Please check with your scholar for their new schedule if they were in Saturday School. Highlight of the week: Our 6th graders are currently the HIGHEST performing 6th graders in English Language Arts out of all 22 IDEA Middle Schools!!! 96.36% Mastery!!!

As always, I leave you with the words of the poet José de Diego: If suffering comes unabated, If weariness weighs down your spirit, Do as the once barren tree: FLOURISH And like the planted seed: RISE Do as the river rich with new rainwater…GROW

Saturday School Update

Scholars of the Week Each week we recognize our scholars of the week in our weekly Friday Assembly. Last week, these were the scholars who exemplified our CORE values in their academic work, effort and progress on our campus.

Scholars selected for Saturday school will be moved to Tuesdays. With our campus growth, we have found a way to ensure the most consistent tutoring session as possible. Please make your schedule accordingly.
