MESSAGE When You Are Too Busy To Think (Psalm 90)

Jason Webb (Senior Pastor) | December 13-14, 2014 | No. 6949 We are all busy. There are events to get to, deadlines and family obligations to meet, committees to serve on and church functions to attend. Throw the holiday season on top of that with its parties, get-togethers, and other demands, and we can feel like our time is slipping away. When our time slips away our life slips away. Is there hope? In Psalm 90 Moses shows us there is.

When we _________________________ our days, we _________________________ our life.

I. The _____________________________ life (vss. 1-14) Why we spend our time in destructive ways:

A. We forget that life is short (vss. 3-6; Psalm 39:4-5) B. We feel that we deserve better (vss. 10, 15; Job 5:7) C. We ignore the reality of God’s judgment (vss. 7-9; 2 Corinthians 5:9-10; Ephesians 5:12-16)

II. The _____________________________ life (vss. 1, 12) A. We get “dragged away” without realizing it (Luke 10:38-42; Exodus 18) B. We try to find something we already have (vs. 1; Psalm 39:6)

III. The _____________________________ life (vss. 12, 17)
