Amazing things are happening in the lives of students at Micah House. This summer students had an incredible time at both Camp TLC and Citizens Camp and we were able to carry the theme and music throughout the summer. Without daily homework students enjoyed an in-house VBS, focused on building community, took many field trips and established an educational foundation for the new school year. Together with the City of Redlands and the Police Department, over 1300 backpacks full of school supplies went to kids in need!! Approximately 5,000 kids, parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles, enjoyed visiting 40+ community partners that gave away additional school supplies at their booths. In addition, kids enjoyed the Ride Yourself Fit obstacle course, community rides and free helmets and free bikes in the giveaway. It was an incredible day. It is humbling each year to see kids get what they need to build a strong foundation for the school year.

Back to the books. Fall is in full swing at both Micah House locations. Volunteers from the community and the University of Redlands work with students on daily homework assignments. Kim Seeburger, Literacy Coordinator, is evaluating students and creating a reading plan for the year.
