Stop in this Saturday to meet Samuel Worden with the winery and to experience these unique wines grown and crafted in the perfect climate of Washington State by owner and winemaker, Brad Sherman. These are vibrant, lush wines that focus on the fruit without being overwhelmed by oak. Gecko Cellars Gecko Cellars is a second label for Michael Florentino that focuses on providing excellent value because it was founded during our recent recession. That doesn’t mean the wine is any less wonderfulit’s just an even better deal!

Gecko Cellars 2010 Monastrell Rosé $14.99 Made from the thick-skinned black grape that the Spanish call Monastrell and that the French know as Mourvèdre, this is a classic European style Rosé in which the skins are barely allowed to kiss the wine with color before being separated. It opens with aroma and flavors of strawberry and grapefruit, with hints of light spice on the finish, and is made with a touch of acidity, .65% residual sugar and moderately low alcohol to create a well-balanced wine for easy drinking.

Gecko Cellars 2008 Malbec $19.99 Washington Malbec is versatile, robust, supple, beautiful and just plain great! This dark and spicy wine presents cherry and plum aromas with the classic Malbec dark fruit flavors and ending a spicy pepper finish. This wine pairs well with meat and spices dishes.

Michael Florentino Tempranillo 2008 $29.99 Coffee and vanilla dominate the nose of this wine, and pumpkin spice notes elevate its complexity. Rich black fruit with supple tannins show in the mid palette and are followed by a lush and lingering finish!

Michael Florentino Fusione 2007 $25.99 This Merlot and Sangiovese blend is Super Tuscan in style with the Sangiovese providing up front fruit and depth, and the Merlot adding bright cherry flavors and body to the wine.

Michael Florentino Primitivo 2007 $26.99 Ruby red with medium depth and nice clarity, this wine offers aromas of meat, blackberry and char followed by notes of smoke and cherries. On the palate is a savory and sweet blend of spice and blackberry pie, along with hints of red licorice that end in a dry finish.

Michael Florentino Quinta De la Dolce Bella $23.99 Quinta de la dolce bella means “House of the sweet and beautiful.” This Washington produced Port style wine is primarily Touriga Nacional based, along with small amounts of Souzao, Tinto Cau and Tinta Maderia grapes. Sweet and beautiful, this wine proudly boasts the same cherry and raspberry flavors that you’ll experience in the ruby Ports from Oporto, Portugal.
