Minnesota Architects State Requirements Total Hours: 24 Detail: 24 HSW Renewal Cycle: Biennial Renewal Deadline: October 31st every two years

FAQ’s How do I renew my license? If your original license in Minnesota was issued on or after July 1, 2012, you are automatically exempt from reporting continuing education for this renewal period. You will need 24 PDH obtained on or after July 1, 2014 to renew your license in 2016. NO CARRYOVER IS ALLOWED FROM AN EXEMPT PERIOD. Renewal forms will NOT be mailed. Licensees and certificate holders will receive a postcard reminder to renew. Licensees and certificate holders will be able to renew online using a credit card for payment. Who notifies the State of my continued education? Licensees are required to report the total number of hours on your renewal form – either online or paper. Records and supporting documentation need to be kept for a period of two years after submission to the Board. If you are selected for audit, you will be contacted and asked to submit supporting documentation of your reported activities. I have extra credit hours; can I apply them to the next renewal cycle? Yes, you may carry-over a maximum of 12 PDHs to the next two year cycle for hours obtained above and beyond the required 24 PDH. You will still need to keep documentation of the activities you carry-over in your files in case of an audit. If you are carrying-over PDHs to the next biennium, you will need to keep that documentation for at least two years after the cycle the hours are applied to. I am licensed or certified in two professions. Do I need 48 professional development hours? No. Dual licensees or certificate holders need a total of 24 PDHs to renew both licenses/certificates. Onethird of the hours in the first profession, one-third in the second, and one-third can be in either.
