A New Chamber Look

Last week was an extremely exciting (and busy) week for the Chamber. After months of design and site population, our new website was silently rolled out on Monday, August 24. Our goal with this redesign was to incorporate a good balance of membership benefits/directory and events and program offerings, Chris Blasius as well as provide visitors an easier way to learn more about what our community has to offer. With mobile-optimized features, we hope you find the enhanced look easy to use and informative. We hope you enjoy your first moments on the new site, and that it continues to serve you long into the future, as a place to connect and find valuable resources. If you experience any problems, find an issue with your listing or the information on a page, please let us know and we will be happy to assist you. Also, any feedback you can provide is highly appreciated. We are always aiming high to provide the best available resources to our members. Later last week with the assistance of the River Falls High School Wrestling team doing most of the heavy lifting and City staff from a logistical and technology standpoint, we were ready to greet visitors within our new space this Monday. With easily accessible parking, public restrooms, upgraded phones, adequately sized conference rooms, and lightning speed internet, we have found our new location within the lower level of City Hall to be a “breath of fresh air”. This smaller, yet more efficient space will provide the opportunity for the Chamber to more effectively and efficiently serve our valued members and community in a very professional manner. Our exterior sign is not yet up, but next time you are near City Hall, be sure to swing by and say hello. During our move, we have identified a number of items (lamp, table, bookshelf, phones, etc.) that are no longer needed within our new space. If you are interested in purchasing any of these items, visit the Community Resources - Marketspace tab on our new website for a photo and description of what is available. (Note: this section is also available for you to utilize as part of your membership benefit!)

In 1989, the City of River Falls established a downtown Business Improvement District (BID). The BID is located in the heart of downtown River Falls and was created to help foster business development and business retention in the center of our city. In 2000 the BID established a Facade Grant Program that encourages the building owners to refurbish, maintain and update their building facades. The BID also established a Sign Grant Program to help businesses offset the cost of new signage for their businesses and buildings. These grants (you don’t need to pay them back!) are intended to help River Falls business and property owners in the Business Improvement District make critical investments to improve the exteriors of their building including, but not limited to, awnings, signs, windows and facades. To learn more about the district area, some of the improvement projects that have already taken place, how to apply, etc. check out www.rfmainstreet.com today!

Available Office Space

On occasion the Chamber office receives inquiries in regard to whether there are any vacant properties available. If you have vacant property with an office and/or retail focus primarily within the downtown hub with area, please email details (size, location, etc.) to Chris at [email protected]. We will keep this information handy and share as able.

Biermaier Financial Management After years of experience working in the financial industry, Jim Biermaier opened his own financial firm as an independent advisor in 2006. His goal was to really get to know each individual client and address their specific needs. His passion became seeing each client as a family member, with their own passions, concerns, and life choices. Jim knew that if he was able to have open discussions with clients about life, dreams and finances he would be able to better serve each client. If each individual client is served this way our firm will continue to grow. Biermaier Financial Management expanded from their first office in Hastings, MN to River Falls and added financial advisor, Michael Pepin. In 2015 both Jim Biermaier and Mike Pepin received the Twin Cities Five Star Wealth Manager award. For Jim, this was his fourth year receiving this honor.
