MISSIONS PASTOR PROFILE The Pastor of Missions is responsible for assisting the Senior Pastor in leading and mobilizing our church family to be about God’s mission of making disciples in all nations. Reports to Senior Pastor. DESIRED CHARACTERISTICS 1. A man who loves Jesus, his family, and people. 2. A man whose character resembles the qualifications found in Titus 1:6-9 and 1 Timothy 3:1-7. 3. A man who delights in the gospel and is driven to get this good news to all peoples and nations. 4. A man who shares God’s passion for the local church and labors to help plant churches where the light of the gospel is most needed (locally, nationally, internationally). 5. A man who has a special burden for those who have no access to hearing the gospel. 6. A man who is able to lead, inspire, and mobilize the church to... » Pray for our entire missions’ effort. » Develop congregational awareness of our missionaries and the progress of the gospel. » Confirm those whom God is calling to the mission field. » Equip missionaries with the training necessary for life and ministry away from PBC. » Send trained people to the field on short-term and long-term mission opportunities. » Care for missionaries and church plant partners. » Support our missionaries and church plant partners on the field with needed resources for their ministry. 7. A man who can communicate God’s Word and ministry vision with courage and compassion. 8. A man whose life and ministry is fueled by a strong biblical theology. » Theological training (seminary or Bible school preferred) » Sincere practice of spiritual disciplines (prayer, Bible study, personal worship, etc.) 9. A man who is able to lead and shepherd the Missions Ministry staff. 10. A man who is able to build and equip strong teams of leaders and missionaries. 11. A man who has the wisdom and leadership abilities to serve on the executive team (PMA). 12. A man who connects with and enjoys the established pastoral staff. 13. A man who is highly relational, servant-hearted, humble, and prayerful.
