MOBILE FLASHOVER SIMULATOR SPECIFICATION Deliver and install a fabricated mobile “Flashover Simulator” Training System that is constructed to meet the current NFPA 1402, 2012 Edition – Guide to Building Fire Training Centers. The “simulator” is comprised of a low profile, tri-axle custom made trailer (minimum of 30 foot heavy duty 2” X 6” rigid frame with black enamel rust resistant paint) and a 30,000 pound 5th wheel. Trailer should be equipped with 16” wheels with 10 ply tires, 60,000 pound landing gear, DOT trailer lighting, brakes on all axles, rear ramps, and side ramps.

The simulator shall consist of two container training enclosures constructed with new cargo containers. • The Burn Container is elevated (three feet above training/observation container) and a minimum of 8’ wide X 11 1/2’ high X 10’ long; with ISO 14 gauge corrugated corten steel container and high performance insulation on walls and ceilings. The two corners of the burn container (opposite the observation container) shall be reinforced with extra insulation and protection for direct flame contact from the material crib to minimize damage to this container. A minimum of an 8 gauge metal covering of all high performance insulation in both modules and 5/8” chain installed on walls, ceiling and doors of burn container. Floor will be protected with metal covering and installed concrete paving used to line floors of burn container. The burn container will have insulated standard double doors of a land/sea shipping container with a loading deck.

• Training/observation container is a minimum of 8’ wide X 8.5’ high X 20’ long with ISO 14 gauge corrugated corten steel container and high performance insulation on walls and ceilings. These containers are connected (interlocked) together with a continuous weld. The training/observation container will have insulated standard double doors of a land/sea shipping container plus two (2) 3-foot by 7-foot outward opening doors located on each side near the rear of the chamber that open freely and return to closed position automatically. Each exterior door on the Training/Observation container will have an incorporated access ramp. The containers outward swinging doors used for personnel egress, emergency exit and loading and unloading of the containers must be securable on each container. Additional jack supports will be available for support of the burn container.

• The Training/Observation Unit will have internal pivoting heat baffle (device), a hose access hatch on the end door, a quick vent hatch (device) for the rapid removal for smoke and heated gases and a training hatch (device) to simulate trench ventilation with appropriate controls included. All modules shall contain a warranty and include a red oxide coating to minimize exterior corrosion. Items to be included in the Bid Price: • Two (2) materials crib for proper loading and burning of Class A materials into the burn container • Two (2) Aluminum signs (minimum of 48” X 96”) designed for installation on the container. • One (1) Equipment Storage Box (Jobox P/N 1-654990 or equivalent) minimum size of 48”L x 24”W x 27.75”D lockable gang toolbox to store portable firefighting equipment. The storage box shall be equipped with four (4) five (5)-Inch polyurethane casters with brake (Everbilt P/N 4120945EB or equivalent). Welded tie-down points will be provided inside of the simulator for securing the equipment storage box while unit is being transported. Equipment storage box will be secured while in transport using four (4) 10,000 pound ratchet tie-downs (Keeper Model #04622) These tie-downs shall be provided by the successful bidder. • Freight costs for delivery within 60 days of purchase.
