Test Specimen Description: (Continued) Finish: All vinyl was white. Glazing Details: Both panels utilized nominal 3/4" thick sealed insulating glass fabricated from two sheets of 5/32" thick clear tempered glass separated by 7/16" exposed corrugated aluminum spacer with butyl. The glass was set from the exterior against 1/8" glazing tape and a continuous backbed of silicone sealant. The exterior snap-fit vinyl glazing stops utilized on all four sides created the exterior seal. Weatherstripping: Description

Frame and Panel Construction: The frame and panel members were mitered and employed welded corner construction. The frame utilized a snap-in interior vinyl track at the sill and also a snap-in vinyl screen track at the exterior sill. The inactive panel was set onto a continuous bed of sealant and secured to the frame at the head, jamb and sill with #8 by 2 -1/2" screws spaced approximately 24" on center. The active and inactive panels employed a snap-in vinyl interlock that was set in a bed of silicone sealant. Screen Construction: The screen frame consisted of extruded aluminum. The corners consisted of mitered, corner keyed and crimped construction. The screen utilized fiberglass mesh which was secured with a continuous rubber screen spline. Hardware: Description
