The Navitas Careers & Learning Skills business unit within the Professional and English Programs Division delivers a range of high-quality, innovative work-readiness and English language programs to individuals seeking to develop their skills and career opportunities. Navitas has a wealth of expertise in creating fully customised courses to provide exceptional learning experiences, ranging from memorable study tours and comprehensive corporate training programs to the establishment of learning and testing centres. The Navitas English Test Centre offers a suite of internationally recognised proficiency tests, including IELTS, to over 29,000 candidates each year. The Navitas Professional, Careers and Internship (C&I) operation is largely student facing focused on provision of work readiness programs for international students and graduates. The Navitas C&I operations deliver internship and workplace preparatory programs across five Australian states to international student graduates to develop them professionally and personally to enhance their career prospects. The unit provides career ready preparation for students seeking to enter the workforce at early stages of their professional career. C&I offers a portfolio of programs which develop foundation skills and career learning skills to enable students to progress their employment goals in their chosen career. C&I operates as a collegiate, matrix operational model leveraging the skills and expertise of the C&I and partner Navitas business units to deliver targeted and nuanced work ready and work development solutions for individuals, host companies and professional associations across Australia. The C&I team works closely with other Navitas units, to combine areas of expertise to enable a broad range of students and clients to participate and succeed in the workplace of today and the future. The National Business Manager is responsible for developing and implementing strategies and approaches that build and develop the C&I brand and market share and contribute to maximizing financial performance across the C&I network. They are accountable for developing and ensuring implementation of national sales strategies across all states that are consistent, targeted, and effective. They provide leadership to C&I State Managers and Team Leaders and are accountable for financial performance of State operations nationally ensuring State operations achieve agreed goals in terms of finances, student recruitment, student internship placements, operations, administration and program delivery. The National Business Manager is a key member of the C&I senior management team and will contribute to the development of strategic initiatives for the unit including product development and cross-unit business initiatives. This role will ideally be based in Sydney, NSW and be required to travel within Australia.

Demonstrated ability to develop and execute national sales strategies Demonstrated ability to achieve/exceed aggressive sales and financial targets Experience in developing and driving an effective national business plan, and managing teams to achieve agreed targets Experience in developing and adapting strategies to meet diverse market needs; Experience using educational software and ability to efficiently learn new software skills; Demonstrated skills and experience in business development in the Australian and international education and VET contexts A sound knowledge of the business environment for international higher education, graduate employability skills, internships, visa and regulatory aspects Demonstrated capacity to manage teams in geographically diverse locations

Desirable: 

Knowledge and experience of marketing, including promotion, advertising, digital marketing, branding, building media presence and public relations would be very well regarded.

1. Overview and Objectives of the Position The National Business Manager is responsible for developing and implementing strategies and approaches that build and develop the C&I brand and market share and contribute to maximizing financial performance across the C&I network. They are accountable for developing and ensuring implementation of national sales strategies across all states that are consistent, targeted, and effective. 2. Key Result Areas (Areas of Accountability and Responsibility)

Core Areas of Responsibility: In conjunction with the Director, Careers and Internships and other C&I State Managers and Team Leaders, ensures the ongoing success of the C&I business unit by: 

Development and rollout on a national level of sales strategies, promotions plans, policies and processes to achieve sales objectives



Development of financial plans including Budgets and Rolling Plans for all State operations



Provide leadership to C&I State Managers and Team Leaders



Ensure State performance meets or exceeds agreed targets and objectives



Provide leadership to the BDC teams to ensure maximisation of sales in all C&I products through consistency in product knowledge and training and sales strategies



Oversee the relationship management and engagement model of key recruitment partners (agents) and be the point for escalation of issues



Manage the agent contract process, on a regular and ad hoc basis.



Ensure C&I is appropriately represented at key recruitment events



Report on market intelligence on a scheduled basis



Contribute to business development activities by researching and developing identified opportunities and plans



Identify new business opportunities by identifying consumer requirements; defining market, competitor's share, and competitor's strengths and weaknesses; forecasting projected business and establishing targeted market share



Keep current on industry knowledge



Other duties as directed by the Director, Careers and Internships

Business Operations 

Liaison with other key managers – liaises with the staff member responsible for each product that C&I offers. This includes, but is not limited to Professional Year; CEP; CAP; NavitasCV, NPIP, Study to Work



Enrolment procedures – ensures staff understand and implement enrolment procedures



Course Administration – ensures all coursework is effectively recorded through liaison with the delivery team and Curriculum and Learning Manager



Coursework delivery – assists with the management of the coursework delivery through assisting with classrooms; teacher recruitment and monitoring delivery in close liaison with the Curriculum and Learning Manager.

Quality of delivery – ensures all programs are delivered using quality processes and achieving quality outcomes



Student satisfaction – monitors student satisfaction through appropriate informal and formal methodology;



Student management – provides oversight of student management and imposes appropriate sanctions as required



Ensures document storage and archive as required



Professional Association – liaises with the Professional Associations including CPA Australia; ACS and EEA as required



Organises and manages regular meetings with key internal teams



Ensures arrangement of and attends graduation ceremonies



Liaison with other key managers



Sound knowledge of shared services (IT, HR, property, Q&C) and provision of feedback into these areas as required to effect business objectives

Reporting & Analysis 

Prepares weekly reports – student numbers against targets; significant operational issues



Prepares Rolling Forecast for State on a quarterly basis



Participates in management meetings by teleconference or attendance



Liaison with Product Line Managers
