Newcomers’ Ministry Coordinator Job Description Position Title: Newcomer’s Ministry Coordinator Reports Directly to: The Rector, Hope Episcopal Church Position Description:  The New Ministry Coordinator will work closely with the rector to provide programming and guidance to this ministry and will assist in the development and implementation of specific plans and tools that will impact the church’s potential for growth.  Their main goal is to welcome, follow-up, track and mentor newcomers so that they will eventually become committed, active and involved members of Hope. Position Qualifications:  This individual should be grounded in the Christian tradition and have an excellent organizational, verbal, written and communication skills; (preferably Episcopal or willing to become an Episcopalian).  This person should have an outgoing personality, be able to make people feel welcome and at ease, the ability to work with individuals and groups and should have an understanding of social media such as: Computer Skills – proficient in Word, Excel, Publisher and Facebook.  This person should also have strong administrative skills and be able to handle details.  A bachelor’s degree is preferred or at least the person should be working towards a bachelor’s degree. Position Hours:  The position is a 20 hours per week job with 5 hours on Sundays (7:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.) and 15 hours during the week. Their schedule will be determined as mutually agreed.  It is mandatory that this person attend both services and Sunday school on Sundays, so they can meet all new people who are potential members.
