May Red Carpet Award—Kurt Schneider Kurt Schneider with Ace Hardware was the Red Carpet Award Winner for May and was nominated by Chad Jensen. Chad had this to say about Kurt, “Every time I have gone into Ace with questions about a product I have purchased, Kurt has had the solution and answers quickly and efficiently.” Kurt received a $25 Gift Certificate, a Red Carpet Pin, as well as other advertising. He will be entered in the Red Carpet of the Year Award for 2015 to be presented in 2016.

June Red Carpet Award—Judi Laughter Judi Laughter with the Sweetwater County Museum was the Red Carpet Award Winner for June and was nominated by Brie Blasi. Brie had this to say about Judi, “The museum had some visitors from out of state that were very interested in visiting a historic site. Judi went above and beyond helping them over the course of several weeks. She spent time gathering information for them, speaking with them on the phone, making sure they got in contact with the correct people, and even stayed late to allow them to visit the museum when they got to town. Judi always offers great customer service, but this was one example of how she always puts forth her best effort to make sure visitors have the best experience!” Judi received a $25 Gift Certificate, a Red Carpet Pin, as well as other advertising. Lunch and Learn - “Providing Networking Opportunities” THE HAMPTON INN July’s Luncheon will be held on Wednesday the 15th at noon at the Hampton Inn in Green River. July’s Luncheon will be a catered event by the Hampton Inn. We will hear from The Sweetwater County Museum and Sweetwater County Travel and Tourism. The winners from May’s Lunch and Learn were as follows: Jessica White with Wyoming Financial won the quarter page ad in our Newsletter; Megan Brown with Golden Hour Senior Center won the free flyers for our Newsletter; Jerry Goodrick with American Legion won the business profile in our Newsletter; Kelli Lennon with Green River Imports won free radio ads; Tiffany Phillips with Aflac and Paul Helvik with Green River Imports both won Papa Murphy’s Cheesy Bread Certificates donated by Papa Murphy’s Pizza; and Jerry Goodrick with American Legion won the 50/50 raffle, Jerry donated his winnings back to the Chamber, thank you Jerry! Pink Sink Luxuries Ribbon Cutting

Welcome to The Chamber Board!

Pink Sink Luxuries held a ribbon cutting on Wednesday, May 27th. They have a cottage boutique featuring hand crafted luxury items such as hand crafted soaps, lotions, bubble bath, bath bombs, etc. They also have shoes, purses, luggage, and jewelry. New items are added almost daily. Make sure to stop by and see them, located at 340 E Flaming Gorge Way in Green River, open Tuesday-Friday 10:00 AM-5:00 PM and Saturday’s 12:00-4:00 PM.

The Green River Chamber of Commerce would like to welcome one of our newest Board Members: Jeremy Gibson with Trona Valley. Jeremy Gibson attended college at the University of Wyoming to study Computer Science and later attended Regis University to earn his degree in Business AdministraJeremy Gibson tion. Since 2000, Jeremy has worked for Trona Valley Community FCU and currently manages the credit union’s operations. Jeremy is a member of the Rock Springs Christian Church and has traveled crosscountry, sometimes globally, as a volunteer. Nowadays, he says his preference is to stay closer to home and help locally. Jeremy asked to join the board to be involved with community events and help support Green River’s local businesses. Welcome to the Green River Chamber Board, Jeremy!

Trona Trails Historic Mine Byway Dedication On Saturday, May 30th, the Sweetwater Historical Museum and Wyoming State Historic Preservation Office dedicated the Trona Trails Historic Mine Byway to Sweetwater County. The Trona Trail has two access points and may be traveled in either direction. The eastbound access point is just east of Little America. Exit I-80 at Little America and take WYO 374 into Green River. The westbound access point is south of Green River on WYO 530.

A GPS-triggered audio tour of the Trona Trail is available for free on the TravelStorysGPS mobile app. Download from the Apple Store or Google Play. Brochures are also available at the Green River Chamber of Commerce and the Sweetwater Historical Museum.

Mustang Versatility—Trail Ride Buckle Series 2015 Mustang Versatility All Breed Trail Series is now in its 6 th year. The event’s goal is to showcase “Mustangs” but all breeds are welcome. The first event in the 4-month series will be held, Saturday, June 14th at the Rock Springs BLM Wild Horse Holding Facility on Lionkol Road, starting at 9:00 a.m. The event is geared to be fun for everyone, last year one of the participants was just 3 ½ years old! Contestants will be competing in several different categories, youth ages 5 and under, youth 11- 6, youth 12 to 15, adults 16 and over for Mustangs and domestics and “In-hand” classification for the horses. (All participants under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.) The 2014 Series will continue with the Extreme Trail Competition. This competition will be open to just adults 16 and over and to those riding a Mustang. Buckles will be awarded in all but the youth 5 & under to Champion and Reserve Champion to high-point members at the end of the year. Sponsors for the event this year are Southwestern Wool Warehouse, Stacked Heart Ranch, B & L Welding and Mountainaire Animal Clinic. The event is cosponsored by the BLM, Green River & Rock Springs Chambers and the Sweetwater Travel & Tourism Board. Pictured: above: Daniel and Thunder. So what can you expect, besides having fun? Each event will vary with different timed events, but a trail ride will be included at all but the last event. The Extreme Trail course will of course change each time as well. Riders are welcome to bring not just a Mustang but also your domestic horses too. The “In-Hand” category offer those with young horses, mini-horses or an older horse that just needs more confidence in negotiating different situations and “obstacles” an opportunity to compete. There will be daily prizes awarded at each event in all categories. There will even be a “Horse of the Month” selected at eac h event. Mustang Versatility Members will be accumulating points, with the high point participants receiving year-end buckles and plaques and hopefully a saddle. You need not be a Member to participate, but only Members will receive the year-end awards as well as a reduced rate for each ride. We will continue with the Sportsman of the Month and the Sportsman of the Year. Each month an outstanding good sport will be recognize with an award. At the September event a buckle will be awarded to the best male and female good sport. The buckles for this recognition are being donated by Chris & Nate Thomas, Kolbi and Ridge Hester in memory of the Judy & Don McIrvin. Events at the BLM Facility will include wild horse adoptions and tours. An adoption will be held the Friday before each event at the Rock Springs Holding Facility.
