Check out Charlotte's perspective of being a missionary kid!

Dear Friends, When I heard my parents discussing it was time to write another letter, I offered to write it and share things from my perspective! The life of a missionary kid is unique and is a life that I love talking about! But first, for those of you that don’t know me, let me introduce myself. My name is Charlotte and I am the sixth Spencer kid. I am in tenth grade and will turn 16 next month! I was the first baby born at the ABC Clinic. I am involved in the hobby of photography and have recently started a small business photographing newborns. I am always trying to convince my family members to be my models so I can practice and improve; so far Stephen and Esther haven’t leaned to love this!

Right now I am the oldest Spencer child in the house and am doing my schooling on Liberty University Online Academy. I have been homeschooled for the past year and a half and love the time I spend at home and getting involved with other activities. I teach two small Ballet classes a week, one at ABC and one at a small school across the street. The kids I teach are from all across the world with some from South Korea, Switzerland, and the UK. The diversity in
these classes makes them fun! I so love my “auntie” life! My sweet nephew, Canaan, is absolutely adorable and makes everyday a little brighter. It is so fun having Jon Jon and Lauren here with their sweet boy. I love all the babysitting, playing, and even the diaper

changes!!! Stephen (12) and Esther (9) are the cutest little aunts and uncles who dote on Canaan on a daily bases. It’s funny to watch my parents compete to try to get Canaan to say their names first!
My grandparents, Jack and Nell Chinchen, are still l

here in Malawi and Grammy picks me up from Ballet class every day! It is so special having them live nearby! On a sad note, my Grandfather, Hal Spencer, passed away last month. Grandfather was the president of Manna Music and published How Great Thou Art for 50 years. Grandfather loved the outdoors and was very funny. We're going to miss him!

In the next couple of weeks and months, we are getting ready to host our different teams that are coming to serve along side of us. I always enjoy these teams because I love showing off my home country, Malawi! For those of you who haven’t heard, we have some exciting news! In the next four months we will be gaining THREE new Spencer’s! My brother Jon Jon and his wife, Lauren, are expecting their second child in about a week. My other brother, David, and his wife, Katie, are due with a baby in July! They will also be moving to Malawi to work with the new African Business Institute (ABI) in August! AND….my other brother, Caleb is marrying a sweet girl from Loveland, Colorado in July! We are so excited to welcome these new members into our family and we all love our new sister-in-law-to-be, Rachel!

My family will be heading to the United States for Caleb and Rachel’s wedding this summer. Recently when someone asked Esther where she wanted to live when she grew up she replied, “America! Because they have bubble gum machines and escalators!” So, YES! We are very excited to be coming to America to see our family and friends…and of course, bubble gum machines and escalators! Thank you all for your love and support! I appreciate you and everything you do for my family! Love,
Charlotte! P.S. Guess what? Judah Anthony Spencer was born on Thursday before we sent this letter!!! Praise the Lord!! Congrats Jon Jon and Lauren! We actually
