SERMON NOTES  Sunday, July 28, 2013 “NEXT STEPS START WITH A FIRST STEP” (Joshua 1:1-11) Everyone has fears. We fear the future. We fear the losses of life. We fear growing old. We fear being alone. We fear things big and small. God calls us to be a people of faith rather than a people characterized by fear. What faith step do you need to take with the Lord to overcome fear? “There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear” (1 John 4:18, NIV). “Be strong and courageous! Do not tremble or be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go” (Joshua 1:9, NASB).
