Thank you to the members and staff of NDBC for the many ways you expressed Christian caring and love to our family during Gordon’s hospital stays and final memory care destination. We were so appreciative of your presence at his memorial service and the beautiful reception that followed. Our non-NDBC relatives and friends who attended the service and reception commented on the hospitality given to them. Gordon was always very proud and happy to tell people he was a member of NDBC and to explain the programs and opportunities for service our church offers. He looked forward to participating in the Taliaferro County week in the summer and in the Habitat builds. Thank you for continuing to care us.

Sincerely Billie, Michael, Tad, and Griffin Davis

Sunday Morning Worship Scriptures May 27 Trinity Sunday

Isaiah 6:1-8 Psalm 29 Romans 8:12-17 John 3:1-17 June 3 Second Sunday after Pentecost

Psalm 119:9-11, 105 2 Timothy 3:10-17 Matthew 28:16-20

Last Sunday was a joyful and musical day featuring two anthems led by children’s choirs. Early in the service, guest artists from Woodward Academy Fourth Grade Choristers joined with members of the NDBC Celestial Choir (grades 1-3) and Berean Choir (grades 4-6) to present an arrangement of the spiritual, Little David, Play on your Harp. The anthem was arranged by Georgia composer, Lynn Shaw Bailey. Later in the service, the Woodward Academy Fourth Grade Choristers offered the anthem, Alleluia! Praise Him, with music Baroque composer, George Frideric Handel and text by Carolyn Swallow. They were joined by Dr. Vladimir Yampolsky on violin. I want to thank the families of the NDBC and Woodward Academy children for being with us in worship on Sunday. Thank you Bo, Van, Mary Frances, Jolene, Sebastian, Noah, Calleigh, Kaylee, Lanier, Leena, Madison, Makayla, Marlie, Navya, and Reese for your beautiful music-making. We all appreciate Aunt Jane Lamkin for helping with robing the NDBC choirs; Robbye Taylor for hosting the visiting parents; Jeff McConnaughey for accompanying the choirs; Brian Knight for setting up the microphones; Barbara Atchley and Nancy Davis for hosting our young singers and providing refreshments; our church school teachers for bringing the children to the sanctuary for rehearsal; and Keith Walker for making space in the service for two children’s anthems . --Mary Lou Swann, Director of Children’s Choirs

The series approaches catechesis (basic Christian instruction for believers) as less of a question about “what” we believe and more a question of “why” we believe. In short, “why does it matter that we believe these tenets of faith at all?” For each doctrinal topic, our presenters are invited to talk about the questions which keep them up at night. Topics include authority, sin, salvation, the human condition, ecclesiology, baptism, and communion. Be looking for more details in the very near future. These sessions will be held at 9:30 AM in the Fellowship Hall.

Dear Northside Drive Baptist Congregation, We are so grateful for the generosity and love you have shown for our family upon the death of my mother, Irene Harris. From those who traveled to the funeral at Mars Hill, NC, to those who sent flowers, to the many who called and emailed and texted, to all of you who sent card after card, expressing sympathy and prayers…we are awash with your love. As is the way with grief, we are sad about her death; but also, joyfully grateful for her life. With God’s love and your encouragement, we are sustained and thankful. Liz Harris-Lamkin and James
