2. Jesus describes Himself with the metaphor of the Bread of Life. Have you repented of your sin and turned to Jesus to trust Him as your Savior and Lord to satisfy your spiritual hunger? Does your current posture of repentance and faith reveal your daily need for Him? 3. After Jesus declared Himself to be the Bread of Life (John 6:25–65), many people left Him and followed Him no longer (John 6:66). Are there passages in the Bible that are hard for you to accept? What choice will you make: Stop trusting Jesus because of hard teachings or continue to follow even when it’s uncomfortable? 4. What is your background regarding communion? What do you think Jesus meant by calling Himself the Bread of Life? Take time to share. As a group, focus on listening to each other’s stories and resist the urge to correct points of disagreement. Let this be a time to understand each other. Afterward, break bread together, knowing that despite our differences, we are all saved by the same God who broke His body for us. Fun Idea: As you gather with your family, friends or life group, bring your favorite bread to share. Message notes available at newhopechurchmn.org/messages.
