November 11, 2016 PRINCIPAL MESSAGE

Dear Parents,

One of our culture expectations at IDEA is that students attend field lessons annually. As you know, these trips are where we visit various universities so that students can know what their experience will be once they matriculate to a university. With this focus in mind, I ask that you plan monthly payments so that our goal of full payment is met timely. We have had opportunities for students to fundraise and will continue with more events that will vary by grade level. If you have not done so, please reach out to your child’s homeroom teacher to get any information on payments and fundraising. We are here in partnership with you to get 100% of our students to their field lessons! Sincerely, Mrs. Sariñana

All 6-8th grade students have a goal of becoming a Word Master or a Millionaire. This means that we have to support a culture of reading at home. Please ensure that your Colt reads silently for 30 minutes each night. Better readers become better writers! Thank YOU for your support!

Daily attendance at school is very important and a requirement of the state of Texas. Please assure your son or daughter is here every day. If they need to be absent due to illness, please assure they bring a medical excuse. Notice to Parents: Under Texas Education Code § 25.095(a), you are hereby notified that if a student is absent from school on ten or more days or parts of days within a six-month period in any one school year, the parent is subject to prosecution under Texas Education Code § 25.093 and the student is subject to referral to a truancy court for truant conduct under Texas Family Code § 65.003(a).
