Mrs. Alvarez passed away February 21, 2016. A native of Manchester, she was a member of Blessed Hope Pentecostal Church of Tullahoma. She enjoyed dancing, cooking and organizing children’s activities in her neighborhood. She also loved attending church. Mrs. Alvarez had a big heart and never met a stranger. She had a great sense of humor and always kept her family laughing. In addition to her mother, Deborah Johnson Wilkerson, she was preceded in death by her stepfather, Billy Wilkerson. Survivors include her husband, Juan F. Alvarez of McMinnville; son, Jonah G. Alvarez of Tullahoma; daughter, Elena R. He was a graduate from Huntland High School. Mr. Damron was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps earning rank of Sergeant. He was a farmer and very proud to be a part of his family’s heritage in farming since 1809 on his family farm in Elora. He worked at Redstone Arsenal from 1956 until he retired as a computer programmer for NASA in 1981. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Bettie Damron; wife, Garybel Windell Damron; brothers, Charles and James Damron; and sister, Freddelene Damron Ruch. Four years’ experience in Radiology and two years’ experience in MRI is preferred.
