Nursery Care Worker Mission and Calling Each Nursery care worker will join with the Journey of Faith Nursery team to create, enhance, and provide a safe and loving environment for the children and families of our programs. While caring for these children and families, our calling is to share the love of Jesus through teachings, worship, creativity, play, and interactions on a daily basis. We will show the body of Christ in a tangible way by having a servant’s heart. Specific Responsibilities In partnership with the Journey of Faith Nursery team, each Nursery care worker is responsible for the following duties: • Checking the daily room schedule for their assignment. • Knowing the room schedule for the day. • Knowing the number of children in the room each day. • Preparing the room for check-in • Preparing the room and supplies • Ensuring the environment is safe and engaging. • When the room is ready, have all staff in that room gather to pray before receiving the families for the day. • Arriving on time for their daily shift. • Wearing appropriate attire as well as having their Journey of Faith apron and name tag. • Turning in Time off requests to the Nursery Director two weeks prior to the requested date. • Calling out sick via text or phone call as soon as possible so that classrooms can be covered correctly. • Sick time slips must be into the Nursery Director by the last Friday of the pay period to reflect on their following weeks paycheck. • Being aware of the surroundings in your class and where the children are at all times. • Being available to jump into any situation concerning the children. • Refraining from cell phone usage unless it is an emergency or you need to contact the Nursery Director. • Keeping personal conversations for before or after work. • Engaging with the children, showing them the love of Christ in your actions and words.

Spiritual Requirements • Be a committed Jesus follower with a lifestyle and reputation of Christian faithfulness • Be in agreement with the Mission, Values, and Core Beliefs of Journey of Faith. • Demonstrates Christ-centered living (1 Peter 1:15-16, 1 Timothy 3:1-7; Titus 1:5-9) • Honesty, confidence, teachability, and humility (Philippians 2:5-7), and patience and commitment in working with others (James 1:4) Reporting: Works with the Nursery care team and is accountable to the Nursery Director and Children’s Pastor.
