For analytical determinations, both quantitative and qualitative, the Mark 2 is a wide-open, versatile performer. This one changes modes from atomic absorption to atomic emission (and back again) at the flip of a switch; fluorescence is also easily obtained through accessories. Hollow cathode lamps, electrodeless discharge lamps, gas discharge, and high-powered xenon lamps permit analytical diversity. That's just for starters: the Mark 2 incorporates the largest, most accommodating sampling compartment in the field.
