Impact Food Distribution Ministry Be a part of the Next Distribution—October 13 at 9 am

The Impact Ministry Food Distribution (IMFD) has shown steady growth for five years. Our leadership and volunteers continue to make it a huge success and blessing for all who participate. Along with Margie's closet, and the new addition of the” Breakfast Biscuit” ministry, we serve an average of 130 families a month. In the past 3 years alone we have served over 103 tons of food. The majority of our food purchases come through the Low Country Food Bank. Our partnership with the foodbank and local community is priceless.

Our client families receive nutritional and health information including flu shots, legal services, school supplies, and most importantly prayer and loving support. The building of relationships and community has created unity with our fellow brothers and sisters in Christ. The Lord continues to bless and provide for this ministry in amazingly abundant ways. Often times, we find unmet, basic human needs. We offer them our prayers and try to address their needs with our own resources. This is what Jesus calls us to do “…to do it for the least of these…” (Matt 25:40)

Worship as a Family (all ages): At St. Paul’s we encourage families to worship together on Sunday mornings; therefore, children in third grade and older will remain with their parents throughout the service. If you or your children are not comfortable with this, please know that we understand. We recognize that it might take time to develop the routine. We’re here to help, so don’t hesitate to ask a priest about successful family worship.

ANNOUNCEMENTS Hurricane/Flood Assistance and Relief— St. Paul’s is joining with the Diocese in response to the disaster. In this fashion, we can bring to bear our time, talents and treasure to help some of the 11,000 displaced families in the affected area in a more organized manner. We will assemble teams to make up relief packs locally, as well as travel teams. We envision travel teams from St. Paul's as a Thur evening —Sun afternoon volunteer effort. Please look to future communications for more details on how you may serve. Salvation Army Office Needs Donation Items— The Salvation Army has requested our help in filling the following needs: New or gently used kids items (video/board games, crayons, color pencils and practice books). For adults: Male/Female hygiene items. A tote is in the foyer of Skardon to drop off items.

UPCOMING EVENTS GriefShare —Mondays at 7 pm through December 10. Contact Heather Kilpatrick, [email protected] or Jane Ihrke, [email protected]. A Light Along The Path —Tuesday, October 9 at 6:30 pm. In the Atrium. Ladies, we’ll be “Stepping-Up” your prayer life. It is our hope to encourage our women to intentionally use these events to include those who are not in a small group or part of our community so they have an opportunity to connect with other women. Join us for a delicious soup and salad meal and a rich time of connecting with the women of St. Paul’s. We are excited to welcome our own Sherry Schuman who will share on the Illuminating role of the Holy Spirit in prayer. Contact Cathy McGrew, [email protected]. DivorceCare - Thursdays at 7 pm Contact Todd Barnum, [email protected]. Men’s Breakfast– Saturday, October 13 at 7 am The Atrium. Hugh Shelbourne is the guest speaker for the October's men's breakfast. His talk is titled: "The Purpose of Prophecy" based on Matthew 13:10-17. Hugh is the author of three works published that cover this same topic! (available on Amazon/Kindle) Ordination to the Sacred Order of Priests—Saturday, October 27 at 10:30 am in Doar Hall— All church members are invited to join us for a very special day! Deacon Korey Kincaid will become Fr. Korey Kincaid as he transitions from his role as a deacon to the role of a priest (presbyter or elder). This is a day of great celebration for Korey, the Kincaid family, St. Paul’s parish family, and the clergy and people of the Diocese of SC. Korey has been ordained for over a decade, but this next step is to join with Anglicans across the world as a priest in Christ's "one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church.” Korey has worked very hard academically to make it to this point. May we all make every effort to support him and his family with your prayers, presence and gifts for his ministry (if you so desire).

All guests are invited to visit our Welcome Table after the service today to receive a gift and information about St. Paul’s.
