Eagle Soars Consulting & Girls on the Run of WNC Essay Contest - Official Rules 1) No purchase necessary. Students participating in the Fall 2013 season of Girls on the Run (GOTR) of Western North Carolina may enter the Essay Contest by completing the official entry form (or a photocopy) and submitting it with one (1) copy of an original essay (300 words) on the following topic: Who will be your Running Buddy at the Fall 2013 Girls on the Run 5K, why did you select this person as your Running Buddy, and what do you love most about him or her? Copies of the official entry form may be downloaded by visiting the Eagle Soars Consulting website (www.eaglesoars.com), the GOTR website (www.gotrwnc.org) or obtained from the student’s GOTR team liaison. A student may also submit an on-line entry form and original essay through the Eagle Soars Consulting website. As part of a student's entry, the student will be asked to provide her first and last name, permanent address and phone number, parent's or guardian’s first and last name, parent's or guardian’s email (if available), student’s date of birth, where she is participating in GOTR, and her current grade level. Students will also have to submit an original essay (300 words) on the following topic: Who will be your Running Buddy at the Fall 2013 Girls on the Run 5K, why did you select this person as your Running Buddy, and what do you love most about him or her? Parental or guardian consent must also be provided and a line is provided on the official entry form for parents or guardians to grant consent. 2) The Eagle Soars Consulting & Girls on the Run of WNC Essay Contest is open to any student participating in the Girls on the Run of WNC Fall 2013 season. All other entries will be disqualified. Each student may enter only one essay. The essay must have a title. Mail-in entries must follow the following rules: The entry form includes a place where the essay can be handwritten. Essays may also be typed or computer-printed, double-spaced, in English and stapled to an original entry form. If submitting a hand-written essay, the essay must be legible and easily readable. Handwritten essays that are not legible will be disqualified. Each page of the essay must be numbered and include the entrant’s name, where the student is participating in GOTR, and the students telephone number at the upper right hand corner. All entries sent by email must be received by Monday, November 25, 2013 for eligibility. Emailed entries must be submitted on the official entry form and emailed to
[email protected] no later than November 22, 2013. On-line entries can be made using the form found at www.eaglesoars.com. All on-line entry forms must be submitted no later than November 22, 2013. Neither Eagle Soars Consulting nor Girls on the Run of Western North Carolina assumes responsibility for lost, late, misdirected, mutilated, postage-due, and illegible entries, all of which will be disqualified. All materials submitted will become Eagle Soars Consulting’s and/or Girls on the Run of Western North Carolina’s exclusive property and will not be returned. 3) Essays must be original, not in the public domain, factually accurate, and must not infringe or violate any law or the legal or equitable right of any person or entity, nor contain material that infringes or violates any personal property rights of others or that constitutes defamation, invasion of privacy, an infringement of the intellectual property rights of any third person, or is otherwise unlawful. By submitting an essay, each student acknowledges her understanding of and compliance with these rules. Eagle Soars Consulting and Girls on the Run of Western North Carolina reserve the right to disqualify any entry deemed inappropriate at their discretion. Essays will be judged by Eagle Soars Consulting employees and volunteers of Girls on the Run of Western North Carolina. The decisions of the judges will be final. 4) One student from each of the counties participating in the Girls on the Run of Western North Carolina Fall 2013 will win one (1) free runner’s registration for their Running Buddy at the 2013 5K to be held at Fletcher Park on December 7, 2013. The runner registrations have been donated by Eagle Soars Consulting. The winning essays may be used in future promotional materials by Girls on the Run of Western North Carolina. 5) All essays and all rights to their publication become the property of Eagle Soars Consulting and Girls on the Run of Western North Carolina, which may use, edit and excerpt these entries for promotional or any other purpose, including placing them online (e.g., on www.eaglesoars.com or www.gotrwnc.org) without attribution or compensation, additional or otherwise. The information that you provide in connection with this contest may be used by the Sponsor, Eagle Soars Consulting, to send you further information about its products and services.
