Welcome Prepare Your Hearts Call to Worship Leader: I waited patiently for the LORD; he inclined to me and heard my cry. He drew me up from the pit of destruction, out of the miry bog, and set my feet upon a rock, making my steps secure. People: He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God. Many will see and fear, and put their trust in the LORD. Leader: As for you, O LORD, you will not restrain your mercy from me; your steadfast love and your faithfulness will ever preserve me! People: May those who love your salvation say continually, "Great is the LORD!" From Psalm 40 Prayers of adoration give praise to God for his attributes (who he is) and actions (what he has done).

Prayer of Adoration Worship through Music Confession of Sin – Elder Carl Schauffele Leader: The God who saved us in Jesus Christ gave this law, saying: You shall not covet anything that belongs to your neighbor. People: You created us to be content in you, but we have coveted blessings you have given to others. Leader: Against you, you only, have we sinned and done what is evil in your sight. People: Have mercy on us, O God, according to your steadfast love. Create in us a clean heart, and renew a right spirit within us. (Silent confession of sin.) Assurance of God’s Forgiveness Leader: Blessed is the one whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered. Many are the sorrows of the wicked, but steadfast love surrounds the one who trusts in the LORD. From Exodus 20:17, Psalm 51, and 1 John 1:9 1

Congregational Prayer – Elder Carl Schauffele Missions Moment – Chris Holdridge Worship through Music Worship through Giving – Deacon Jerry Smith If you are visiting with us, please do not feel any obligation to give. Children may be taken to Preschoolers’ Worship (ages 3-4) or Primary Worship (age 5 through 1st grade) at this time. Worship through the Word Proclaimed – Rev. Marc Swan Text: Matthew 7:13-14 Series: The Sermon on the Mount: Life in the Kingdom Title: What To Do At the Fork Profession of Faith Leader: Oh give thanks to the LORD, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever! Let the redeemed of the LORD say so, whom he has redeemed from trouble and gathered in from the lands, from the east and from the west, from the north and from the south. People: Some wandered in desert wastes, finding no way to a city to dwell in; hungry and thirsty, their soul fainted within them. Then they cried to the LORD in their trouble, and he delivered them from their distress. He led them by a straight way till they reached a city to dwell in. Leader: And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. People: He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God. He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.” Psalm 107:1-7, Revelation 21:2-4

“Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. 14 For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few. ESV Reader: This is the Word of the Lord. People: Thanks be to God!

Missionary Moment These updates are supplements to our Missionary Report, published every-other-month, which is located on the Communications Table. Please continue to pray for the missionaries we support and for the work God is doing throughout Rochester and the world!

Jody Collinge—Mexico Thank God: 1. Thank God for an excellent time near Seattle, where 1for50/ Neighborhood Kids’ Hubs has their center. Their dream is to reach and disciple every child, both in North America and around the world, by training local leaders. So that fits well with Children’s CHE, and we are working out ways to work together. 2. I enjoyed the time in New York with my family, but we also faced some challenges. Thank God for his protection! Thank God for my mother, Mary Ellen Collinge, who just celebrated her 89th birthday. 3. Our VBS in Zihuatanejo went well, with about 80 children attending. Pray for effective follow through with the children and their families. 4. Yesterday we took about 60 children to Magic World, a local water park, for a celebration. 5. Many thanks to the committed teams who come down to work with us. 6. Thank God that my computer is fixed! The kitchen sink is fixed! I have Internet again! 7. Christian and Elsa have started a church in Las Mesas, growing out of the ministry with children and youth in that area. Thank God for the growth of this church (mostly from unchurched families) and the growth in Christ of the teens, who are becoming strong leaders. But they are rapidly outgrowing the home where they are meeting, and hope to work together to buy a piece of land. Please be praying: 1. My mother has lived in her home near Rochester, NY for 56 years. She loves her neighbors and her garden but it is finally time for her to move into an apartment at a senior center near the Y where she often goes to swim. Please pray for the sale of her home, and for a smooth transition to Baywinde. Pray also for safety in driving. 2. Pray for unity in our Zihuatanejo ministries and churches. 3. In September, I will travel to Nicaragua to give a Children’s CHE training. They are working in about 8 communities in Nicaragua. Pray that the training will enrich their ministries. 4. Pray for times to relax and catch up between travels. ¡Muchas gracias! Thanks for praying me through all these travels. I thank God for your friendship, support and prayers. Jody 5
