b. Nahum 1:2 i. We don’t like to talk about God’s wrath ii. We cannot understand his love apart from his wrath. iii. The greater his wrath…the greater his love to over ride his wrath. So Great is his WRATH…Greater still is his LOVE! iv. He created the vehicle for the dissipation of his wrath…instead of pouring it out on us. He poured it out on his only son. Application: Our Desperate Need a. People who come from very dark backgrounds i. Dramatic converstions ii. They understand what they have been saved from iii. God uses them in profound ways iv. Because there is a daily desperation for Him 1. the niceties of our lives prevent us from peering into and meditating on the darkness we have been delivered from. b. Only in desperation People who come from Moral Homes don’t understand their desperation for Jesus. i. All People are lumped in the same category by God: Dead, servants of satan, children of wrath. ii. The reason why God will not use us to our full potential: 1. We think we are pretty good…and oh yeah we need Jesus too. 2. We are comfortable will we empty ourselves to be filled full of Jesus. Only in realizing our inability can we utilize His ability and power.
