Associate Rector Administration Rector Exempt

SUMMARY: The position of Associate Rector is responsible for administrating and managing a portion of the program staff and some of the parish entities, as well as performing a liaison role with a number of the fellowship groups and activity teams of the parish. In addition, the Associate Rector will oversee the contemporary worship offerings in the newer worship space, known as Bethell Hall. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 1. Act in Executive Officer role, as ‘2nd in charge’ to the Rector 2. Directly manage program staff reporting to this position 3. Competently preside, officiate and preach at all styles of worship 4. Ability to lead baptismal and wedding preparation and services 5. Provide excellent Christian formation teaching in small and large groups 6. Serve as pastoral presence in parish 7. Able to make hospital visits and to be assigned to take emergency pastoral calls ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS: 1. Must be in an evident faith relationship with Jesus Christ and seeking personal growth – spiritually, emotionally, and professionally. 2. Must be a tither or working toward a tithe 3. Interested in remaining in this position for a minimum of five years 4. Youthful attitude; ease of working with younger parish (majority <45 yrs old) EDUCATION – Master of Divinity, ordination to the Order of the Priesthood EXPERIENCE -1. Significant experience as priest and/or life experience 2. Successful experience working on and leading boards of parish-related entities 3. Must have experience in budget development and adherence, personnel management and reviews, hiring and release of personnel

SKILL and ABILITIES – 1. Must have good organizational skills 2. Must be a tither or working toward a tithe 3. Interested in remaining in this position for a minimum of five years 4. Must be able to multi-task 5. Proficient in Microsoft Office products and intermediate to advanced computer skills PREFERRED SKILLS 1. Have appreciation of our unique and challenging, prophetic role 2. Exhibit passion for social justice and outreach 3. Be a person of ‘high energy’ with ability to exhibit extrovert behavior 4. Team player with collegial attitude LANGUAGE SKILLS – Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
