FALL & WINTER 2016-17

A NOTE FROM THE DIRECTOR… AREN’T WE FORTUNATE? We may be some of the most fortunate people on the planet. We live in a beautiful community many people only get to visit while on vacation. A community that has a strong economy and one known for friendly locals. A community of entrepreneurs, givers and volunteers. A community with a strong local government, engaged citizenry, award winning hospital and nationally recognized primary and secondary education systems. Your Parks and Recreation Department has much to live up to in a community such as Bozeman. It is our goal to offer the highest quality recreation programs, beautiful and functional parks, a forward looking and connected trail system, unique and functional rental facilities, the safest and best aquatics experience possible, a diverse and valuable urban forest and a cemetery that preserves history and the dignity of our loved ones. It is our sincere hope that this department adds significantly to your quality of life and is one more reason for us all to feel so fortunate to call Bozeman home. We are here to serve and as always, welcome your comments and suggestions. I’ll see you out there,

The 2016 player’s pack includes two ESP protos, a performance shirt and other cool gear valued at more than $70. Get ready to run it!

SPOOKY SPORTS OCTOBER 20

Boo! We will create Halloweenthemed crafts, explore the graveyard through a scavenger hunt and do headstone rubbings of the oldest plot dates we can find. We will also spend time in Lindley Park playing pumpkin golf, along with many other spooky sport favorites.

We will create turkey art pieces, paint pumpkins, explore outdoors, play flag football, bake mini pumpkin pies and have turkey sandwiches with all the fixings for lunch. Pack your suit and towels because we are swimming today too.

TRACKS AND TRAILS NOVEMBER 28

Don’t forget your winter coat for this outdoor camp.

HARRY POTTER JANUARY 23

In this, one of our most popular camps, kids get divided into houses by the sorting hat and craft a magic wand with phoenix feathers. Create chemical reactions, magic potions and play a game of Quidditch. Take Harry’s quiz and experiment with magic tricks that are a part of Harry Potter’s wizardly ways.

PRESIDENTS’ DAY PLAY FEBRUARY 20

What would our founding fathers do on a day off in the winter? PLAY! So that is what we will do on Presidents’ Day. We will ice-skate, make snow caves, create winter art pieces, take a walk in the snow, learn about past presidents and make snacks to get us through the day.
