Overview Who We Are Girls on the Run is a physical activity-based positive youth development program designed to develop and enhance girls’ social, psychological, and physical competencies to successfully navigate life experiences. Over the course of the program girls will:

For Spring 2015: • Our GOTR Council served 806 girls in 59 teams at 41 sites • More than 100 girls received financial assistance
This Spring 2016 and beyond:
• Our GOTR Council plans to serve over 900 girls in 62 teams at 46 sites • Approximately 13% of girls will receive financial assistance • Our goal is to expand the program to Title 1 schools to provide programming to families who would not otherwise seek our life-skill programs for their children
Girls on the Run 5k Spring 2016 5k May 15th Wissahickon High School 9:30am start
The Girls on the Run 5k is the culminating event for our program participants, families and community members. Completing a 5k gives the girls a tangible sense of achievement, as well as a framework for setting and achieving life goals. The results are the same — making the seemingly impossible, possible.

Volunteer for a Day GOTR 5k - Volunteer at our GOTR 5k. (Five hour commitment)
* Cheer on participants along the course * Distribute water to participants at water stations * Paint faces / Apply Happy Hair for girls * Sell GOTR merchandise * Direct parking * Direct participants on the course * Assist vendors * Assist with race packet pickup (the Friday prior to 5k) Office Work Days (one day commitment – to be determined as needed) Volunteering for an office work day could include assisting with coach trainings, coach bag assembly, 5k preparation and t-shirt sorting.
