Bart and Meg summarize (Attachment) Liaison share w/ commissions  Mass Greeters top topic. It would be welcome to have people from each commission promote families and individuals to volunteer. System for volunteering has been set up on website.  Music has the second highest interest. Contemporary music & Teen involvement both highly suggested.  Immediate need for manpower (Sunshine Club) to send letters & cards for anniversaries, contributions, help with hospitality and greeting. Expand hospitality to other mass days/times, beyond Sunday 9am. Mary Lestina will oversee this initially.  Hospitality: expand beyond the 9am mass Estimate 18 month process - PC work with each commission.  Develop/Discuss process to will we monitor results? Expectation that staff will become responsible for and take on development and process of the programs that the commissions develop and Pastoral Council approves. Intent: PC review/ decide what to move forward with / who will be assigned to. June meeting: Review Dave M. Music presentation. Read and discuss next month as council.

Clergy abuse document:   

Should this be put into our bulletin, with an explanation by Priest? Document discusses actions taken, promises made and kept, channels for recovery. Diocesan review board (after the civil authorities have reviewed & decided not to prosecute) steps in, does their own investigation. Built of lay people outside of the church. General consensus is that we put into the bulletin. o ResponseBulletinFinalV2.pdf

This appears to address the legal issues, but not the spiritual issues. Somewhat vague rules to follow from a legalistic stand point are given. This came from the Arch Bishop as many people felt that MKE has done nothing after additional scandals were revealed on the east coast. This is our MKE response, to help support open dialog and ensure all are aware we are taking steps to stop this from happening again. Also Dallas charter, pulled together a similar legalistic approach.

Our next step: mass of atonement, mass of healing. We wonder if our Arch Bishop could put out writings, as our spiritual father. Closure on PC nomination and discernment. o o o

No need to meet May 9 & 16 May 23, Officer & commission discernment with Mary Lestina has been changed to June 13th meeting at 6:30pm. Installation Mass at 9am for all officers and members

Stewardship ideas, vision, meetings

o New commission, Stewardship From our mission statement, a movement of people to Intentional discipleship: to seek, to know, to become. Everyday stewardship is everyday discipleship. Let’s shift our vocabulary, to shift our culture, to become engaged parishioners, commissions & leaders Stewardship’s involvement: Pastoral Council first, changes our life around it in a visionary way, determining how to disseminate to parish. Stewardship becomes a monitor of how we encourage and engage the church. Stewardship can develop metrics to discern what is working, what needs change. Amazing Parish team is our weekly executive team Stewardship committee is working with Barb V.

Goals for the Stewardship committee. Good group of people. 8-9 people on the committee. No chairperson has been named yet. Don Drees is consultant - Cherie/Bart PC liaison
