Tuesday night’s girls basketball action saw two local teams head in different directions as one continued GIRLS BASKETBA L L its impressive start while the other one’s late comeback fell just short in the fourth quarter. Here’s a brief rundown of Tuesday night’s girls basketball

Hills remains undefeated after their home victory over Princeton on Tuesday night in Lincoln City. The Pats improved to a perfect 6-0 on the year as they outscored Princeton in every quarter except for the fourth where the Tigers had a narrow 13-10 advantage.

Patriots 52, Tigers 38: Heritage

Sophomore Rebekah Gordon led the Pats in scoring with 16 points while junior Brianna Quinn and freshman Hadley Lytton added 11. Lytton also added seven steals to go along with her scoring effort in the victory. Wildcats 50, Rangers 44: Heading into the fourth quarter, Forest Park found themselves trailing 42-27 to Evansville Mater Dei but

they outscored the Wildcats 17-8 in the final quarter. However, they fell just short as Mater Dei hung on for a 50-44 victory. Forest Park trailed by just three after the opening quarter and still led by only six at the halftime break. However, they held Forest Park to just three third-quarter points as they stretched their lead to 4227 and didn’t look back from there.

The Rangers were led by junior Kenlee Gehlhausen as she finished with 11 points while freshman Ali Welp added nine , junior Macie Zink added eight and junior Kennedy Sermersheim finished with five. Josie Hudson (16) and Emily Beckerle (10) both finished in double-figures for Mater Dei in the victory while Hannah Winiger added nine.
