Peace That Surpasses All Understanding Isaiah 26:3, NKJV You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on you, Because he trusts in You. John 14:27, NLT Peace I leave you with, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. Recently, I asked God to share a secret with me. I wanted to know the secret to living a life of joy and perfect peace. From examining scripture, I can see plainly that God wishes for us to be filled with joy 24-7-365…always. To walk in His divine state of bliss, we must have new revelation and a change of attitude. God has already given us wisdom. He has given us the mind of Christ. Through His Holy Spirit, God reveals His perfect will to us as we submit to Him. 1 Corinthians 2:16, NLT For, Who can know the Lord’s thoughts? Who knows enough to teach Him? But we understand these things, for we have the mind of Christ. Peace is a fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22), a divine anointing, a blessing and a gift from God. God showers believers with peace. We have it already and the Holy Spirit told us plainly in Philippians 4:6-8 how to release our inner peace. Phillipians 4:6-7, AMP Do not fret or have any anxiety about anything, but in every circumstance and in everything, by prayer and petition (definite requests), with thanksgiving, continue to make your wants known to God. And God's peace [shall be yours, that [tranquil state of a soul assured of its salvation through Christ, and so fearing nothing from God and being content with its earthly lot of whatever sort that is, that peace] which transcends all understanding shall garrison and mount guard over your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. Here’s how the Holy Spirit directed us to release God’s perfect peace. 1) Never worry. Refuse to fret or have anxiety – ever. Resist it. Stand against it. 2) Talk to God. Pray, asking God for what you need. Make your requests known to God. (Yes, God already knows that we need, but He likes to hear from us, He delights in talking with us.)   PROMISES  CHRISTIAN  COMMUNITY   P.O.  Box  146766,  Chicago,  IL  60614,  1-‐800-‐764-‐1026,  PromisesChurch.com

3) Be Grateful & thank God. Always have a grateful heart. Thank God for hearing you, thank Him for His answer, thank Him for past blessings, present blessings and for the blessings to come. 4) Exercise Patience. Be content with your present circumstances (not to stay there) but because you trust God to correct it. Be content having faith that God loves you, He’s already heard you and He’s made the arrangements you need. He will rescue you. Important Note: To boost your faith, keep thanking the Father (all day long) for His answer. Take Holy Communion (at home) and repeat your blessings aloud while doing so. Speaking the promises of God has miraculous power. Pray in the Holy Spirit, knowing that while you do so, your life is lining up with the perfect will of God and your circumstances are continually improving. Meditate on the promises of God by rereading the scriptures that most inspire you. Your steadfastness will be greatly rewarded. 1 Peter 5:7, NLT Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you. Psalm 50:15, NLT Then call on me when you are in trouble, and I will rescue you, and you will give me glory. Peace is a divine blessing that comes from patient trust in God’s love and faithfulness. We know how much God loves us and we can rest in that love. When know the honor and holiness of God, we have security. 1 John 4:16, NLT We know how much God loves us, and we have put our trust in his love… Do you need peace? Lay all your cares, worries and emotional pain at the feet of our loving Jesus. Talk to Him as if you were talking to a dear friend. Cry out to Him. He loves you and He has promised to help you. John 6:37, NLT However, those the Father has given me will come to me, and I will never reject them. Isaiah 41:10, NKJV Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand. As I began to lay all my concerns on the alter, as I began to meditate on how much God loves me and how honorable God is…as I began to thank Him for what He’s already done, His peace was released. He had already given me   PROMISES  CHRISTIAN  COMMUNITY   P.O.  Box  146766,  Chicago,  IL  60614,  1-‐800-‐764-‐1026,  PromisesChurch.com

peace, but it could not be released as long as I willingly worried, had a negative attitude, meditated on challenges and fantasized about bad outcomes.

Peace is maintained through the habit of daily meditation on the love and faithfulness of God. We must know that we know, that we know that God is honorable. He is the security that we’ve been looking for. He has heard all our prayers he’s already answered them. Along with our faith, we must develop patience. Impatience allows Satan to delay us and rob us of the blessings of God.

1 Peter 1:6, NLT So be truly glad. There is wonderful joy ahead, even though you have to endure many trials for a little while. 1 Thessalonians 5:18, NLT Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus. Romans 8:39, NLT …nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord. Prayer for Peace “Father God, I thank you for drawing me to you and filling me with your Holy Spirit. Thank you for the gift of perfect divine peace. I believe in you and in the love of Jesus Christ which sustains me. Thank you for hearing all of my prayers and answering them. Keep me filled with your Holy Spirit and remind me of your love and commitment to me. Remind me to be patient and joyful because I can always expect the best from you. By faith, I receive your love and your peace, in Christ Jesus, Amen.” Copyright Acknowledgements New Living Translation (NLT) Scripture quotations marked (NLT) are taken from the Holy Bible, New Living Translation, copyright © 1996, 2004, 2007 by Tyndale House Foundation.
