Pedestrian Crosswalk Solutions MUTCD-Compliant Systems

The Federal Highway Administration’s decision to rescind the Interim Approval for Optional Use of Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacons (IA-11) doesn’t mean your community should be left without proven pedestrian crossing solutions. Anticipating this decision, TAPCO has designed two LED-enhanced, MUTCD-compliant pedestrian crossing systems that can be as effective as RRFB systems. Both options have the unique capability to synchronize flash patterns on each side of the pedestrian crossing and back-to-back on each pole. Best of all, TAPCO control systems allow for RRFB light bars to be easily added in the future without replacing or dismantling the system. To get started, just choose one of the options below and contact your TAPCO account manager to learn more. For state-specific guidelines, please contact us for information on additional variations on these systems.
