Mason Cash is rooted in its English heritage. Over the centuries, we have developed a great understanding of the requirements and expectations of pets and their owners. We pride ourselves on innovating hard-wearing and practical bowls by utilising the best quality materials possible to ensure that Mason Cash is the number one choice for pet owners when they invest in pet bowls.

At Mason Cash, we are committed to upholding our fine tradition of producing the highest quality hard-wearing, functional and beautiful products to ensure that pets and their owners around the world are happy at mealtimes.

Mason Cash has been the choice of pet owners, home cooks and bakers for centuries. The origins of Mason Cash can be traced back to a pottery operating at Church Gresley in the heart of the English ceramic industry in 1800. Church Gresley was located close to all the raw material and fuel sources required to make ceramics and had fantastic transport links to take finished goods all over the world. Mason Cash began with a focus on ceramic items for the kitchen, such as mixing bowls and pudding basins. The pottery was run by a series of Master Potters during the 1800s, the most colourful being ‘Bossy’ Mason after whom the company was named. Tom Cash acquired the pottery in 1901 and renamed the company Mason Cash & Co. In the 1940s, the company diversified into bowls for pets, a product range for which Mason Cash has become world-renowned. The bowls were made from ‘white and cane’ glazed earthenware sometimes known as ‘yellow-ware’ due to the colour of the local clay, or ‘bargeware’ as they were packed onto barges and sent to market. It is these materials, combined with a classic design, which make the Mason Cash pet bowl range instantly recognisable around the world today.

helping to look after your pets Your pet needs a well-balanced diet to stay fit and healthy as well as constant access to fresh, clean drinking water. The amount your pet needs to eat will depend on factors such as age, how active they are and their general health. Here are some key points on how to take care of your cats and dogs. Care booklets can be downloaded from www.rspca.org.uk

Dogs

Feed your dogs at least once a day unless otherwise advised by your vet. At Mason Cash, we have spent decades perfecting the size, thickness and material weight to ensure that the bowl you choose holds the right amount of food for your size of dog.

u

u

Meal times with your dog should be supervised.

Once you’ve found a balanced diet which works for your dog stick to it as sudden changes in diet can lead to upset stomachs. u

Always provide plenty of clean, fresh drinking water, especially if you choose a dried food as this can make your dog very thirsty. Because the Mason Cash water bowls are made from heavy stoneware, they help keep water cooler for longer than other materials. u

Be aware that most human meals do not provide any nutrition to dogs and some foods such as chocolate, onions, grapes and raisins can be poisonous to dogs. u

u

Dogs are omnivores and eat both meat and plants

Cats

Feed your cat every day, ideally splitting the daily ration into several meals throughout the day, unless advised otherwise by your vet.

Cats need a well-balanced, meat-based diet to stay fit and healthy cats are carnivores and cannot survive without nutrients found in animal derived materials.

Mason Cash have the perfect selection of cat bowls to suit your cat’s every need. Our bowls and saucers are just the right height to ensure comfortable access to food and drink for all cats of all sizes.

Once you’ve found a balanced diet which suits your cat then stick to it as sudden changes in diet can cause stomach problems

Some human foods, such as onions, are also poisonous to cats. u

u RSPCA employs over 300 inspectors to investigate more than 150,000 complaints of cruelty and neglect every year

helping to support animals Mason Cash are proud to support the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA), and make an annual donation of £15,000 to help the charity with their mission to prevent cruelty, promote kindness and alleviate suffering of animals. Inspired by a love and care for animals, Mason Cash have pioneered the best products for pets available, with an endorsement from the RSCPA. More than one quarter of pets kept in the UK were bought or acquired from an animal welfare or rescue centre. In light of this startling statistic, we understand that pet owners in the UK possess a huge empathy and attachment not only for their animals, but also for those still suffering. This is at the heart of our motivation to help the RSPCA to make a difference.

u The charity has a network of 166 branches throughout England and Wales and an extensive international network too working with other animal welfare organisations u At four hospitals and five clinics, the RSPCA treat pets in need of preventative medicine or welfare treatments. u Each year the RSPCA receives over 1,000,000 calls - in 2012 it rescued over 194,000 animals and rehomed over 55,000 u It successfully secured 4,168 convictions, protecting animals against those who break the law u RSPCA is a charity registered in England and Wales and only exists because of public donations

By purchasing a Mason Cash product, pet owners can trust that not only are they buying the best for their pet, but are also helping others across the country. *A charity registered in England and Wales. Charity No. 219099
