The Praise Team and The Inspirations

+Affirmation of Faith (unison) The Apostles’ Creed I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth. And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried. He descended into hell. The third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen. +Hymn 579

That’s why we contract with an exterminator to treat our buildings on a regular basis to keep outside creatures out, and to protect the structures against termites. This may seem a mundane expense, but regular inspections and maintenance are necessary to keep our church campus in good working order. Your contributions to the current fund helps to support both the church building and the church programs that keep Philadelphia a place of welcome, refuge, learning and love. Thank you! BRIGHT BLESSINGS 2ND ANNUAL BLESS-A-BABY SHOWER You're Invited! Gather your family, friends and groups and join us at the Giving Village today February 12th for a baby shower to celebrate and bless the tiniest victims of poverty. With your help, we were able to touch the lives of more than 500 babies and toddlers in our community in 2016! We are already off to a tremendous start in 2017 and know that together we will be successful in delivering our programs to even more children in need this year. Thank you for your dedication and ongoing support! LOVE ONE ANOTHER AS I HAVE LOVED YOU . . . In John 15:12, Jesus says, “This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.” Loving and caring for one another is not just the pastor’s job—it’s something Jesus calls us all to do! Stephen Ministry is a ministry in which people with special gifts for caring ministry can put those gifts to use in an organized way, bringing Jesus’ love and care to those who most need it. If you know someone who is going through a difficult time, contact one of our Stephen Leaders - Grace Phillips, Tony Baker, Lisa Newton or Judy Turnage - about Stephen Ministry. Our Stephen Ministers are ready to provide focused, confidential, one-to-one Christian care—to help that person experience the healing power of Christ’s love. BACKPACKS OF LOVE – Praise and thanks to the congregation of Philadelphia Presbyterian Church and the church school classes. Our pantry at Clear Creek School is well stocked to meet weekend needs for hungry children. Special shout-outs to the Kingdom Kids for holding big donation pots for Souper Bowl Sunday, in support of Backpacks of Love. It takes a great team. SOUPER BOWL OF CARING – Thank you to everyone who gave so generously last week to the Souper Bowl of Caring and a special thank you to the Kingdom Kids for the awesome job that they did collecting the donations. Together we raised $728.41 for Backpacks of Love. That’s TEAMWORK! That’s how we tackle hunger together! THE INVITATION TO MEMBERSHIP: Philadelphia Church welcomes persons who wish to join us in witness and service to Jesus Christ. If you are interested in church membership or desire more information about this congregation, please indicate on the Attendance Register; or, as you leave, speak to one of the Pastors.
