FINANCE UPDATE – URGENT!!! Please note this week’s financial report above. For the last few weeks, our income has been trailing our expenses. While we believe that this deficit will be made up in December as it usually is, the gap is getting larger instead of smaller. Help! PPC is doing amazing things – mission trips, Rise Against Hunger, hosting guests from the Center of Hope, special music and musicians, Backpacks of Love, Wonderful Wednesdays, Kingdom Kids, Christmas Party and so much more – and our Praise Team is busy preparing for the Journey Service kickoff in January. We are making a huge impact in Christ’s name in many, many lives, but it takes money to do these ministries. Contribution statements will go out this week. If your giving is behind what you pledges, please make your pledge current if at all possible. If you have a little extra income this month, please consider giving a portion of it as well. Remember, no matter how much we give, we can’t out give God!

WHERE FAITH MEETS FINANCE This morning we will be observing World Wide Communion, a day when we have the privilege of celebrating Communion with our brothers and sisters across the globe. This makes Evangelism, the third tenant of our vision statement, even more relevant. Spreading the Good News to others is both a privilege and a responsibility. During this stewardship season, let us look for new and loving ways to reach out to a hurting world that needs to hear some good news and share the Good News of Jesus Christ and His amazing love and grace! RISE AGAINST HUNGER—On October 8, our church will take part in the ongoing effort to feed the hungry across the globe. Plan to stay after worship on that day. Come down to the Kerr Building to help bag rice and protein to send to other countries where hunger is rampant. This is a multi-generational mission here at PPC. Even young elementary schoolers can help! It’s quite an awesome event! If you haven’t done this before, that’s okay. Someone will gladly show you what to do. There’s no better way to spend a little of your time, and it helps so many people. Lunch will be provided. See you on October 8!

More information is available on the church website. You can fill out a bulletin insert and leave it in the offering plate or RSVP online. BACKPACKS OF LOVE – Many thanks to all of you who have helped to fill the shelves in the office hallway for the start of the school year at Clear Creek Elementary. This program runs so smoothly due to the generosity of our congregation. Please continue to keep those cans and boxes coming. Lists of needs are on the shelves. Financial contributions are also welcome. They are very helpful when we are running low on specific categories of food.

A MEMORIAL SERVICE for Elizabeth Phillips, daughter of Rachel Phillips will be held on Thursday, October 5th at 2 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Mint Hill. THE WALL outside the office has been transformed, and you get to write on it! Instead of keeping track of service hours, we want you to tell us about the blessings you’ve encountered this week. Please take a moment to think about all the blessings you have given and received, write the best on our new “Blessings on the Go” graffiti wall. As we are thinking about stewardship over the next several weeks, this wall will give us a chance to share with one another the amazing ways that God is working is our own lives and as well as in the lives of those around us. We hope the new graffiti wall will serve as a tangible reminder of our vision, “to bless others as we have been blessed.” DEDICATION SUNDAY COMING SOON! October 15 is Dedication Sunday, the day that we turn in pledge cards containing the amount we plan to give during the coming year. Some folks have already turned their cards in – thank you! If you haven’t yet decided what you can give financially during 2018, please be in prayerful thought about what God is asking you to do. And please bring your pledge card to the service on October 15 as we celebrate all that God has given us, and pledge to return as much as we can back to Him! If you have any questions about pledging or contributions, please contact Judy Clinton in the church office, 704-545-6172.
