Pilgrims filled the streets of Jerusalem for Passover. As Jesus entered the city, he attracted a curious crowd. Many wondered if this miracle worker, who taught with such authority, might actually be the long awaited Messiah. They were full of excitement and anticipation that he would lift Rome’s hand of oppression, so heavy upon them. Those who enjoyed seats of power feared he would disturb Caesar enough to wreck their authority. Crowds don’t always see clearly. What did he want them to see?
